Thanks! 1982 Honda Civic My Sis in Law has had this vehicle in the family for 28 years and needs to sell it. Her son wants a four door for work and no one else in the family needs a car. I have listed several of our cars on eBay and have perfect feedback so I told her I would help with the listing. I work for a Honda dealership and am very familiar with this car since I have helped maintain it. I have driven it for the last week and have had several people fascinated with it. I will make sure as a bidder you will make an informed decision and I will respond to any questions no matter how silly you think they are. Please ask. It was bought new from one of my competitors and maintained at the dealer for part of its life. I have several receipts as well as the original keys and dealership addendum. Engine and transmission- I feel both are in great working order and should be very reliable still. I just put a new starter on it and recently sent out the carburator to have it rebuilt. It was done by "Guaranteed carburetors" and then I had the dealership handle the instillation. It cost about $500 but it brought life back into the drivetrain. I also installed a new electric fuel pump at the same time. I had a minor tune up done while it was in there and they took care of a few odds and ends. The drivetrain is the strength of this little car and should give you great service for years to come. With the low miles and careful maintenance I feel it will last you a long long time. Interior- Very nice seats with no tears and nice carpet as well. I took some picture of the dash so you can see the spots where it is cracked so please take a peek. The doors skins are good except where some one has put ugly tape along the top portion. It needs to be removed an have a color that matches better put on. People comment on the interior and cant believe how nice it looks. Exterior- From 15 feet it looks great. As you get closer you can see the blemishes and tiny door dings. The upper surfaces show their age but I think someone who knows what they are doing could get the luster back. The sides look great. There is a bit of rust on the tailgate but surprisingly little elsewhere. Especially underneath! It needs an antenna and I bought one to include with the sale. Good tires with a lot of life left and new beauty rings. Driving it lately I am surprised at the people that drive by and honk or give me a thumbs up. Cool car! I took a bunch of pictures so please look. I have been as accurate as possible with this description but I want to mention a few issues I noticed so you can bid accordingly. This wipers are fickle and my techs at work say the switch is going. I had to hold it between 2 settings to get them to stay on. Then later they worked. At the same time I noticed a small leak on my foot as I was driving in the rain. I looked at the windshield and think it needs to be resealed. It is surprising free of chips though. The ac worked well last summer but over the winter I think the freon leaked out. I feel it will work with a charge of freon. All the components should be good. Even with these issues I feel it a great little car. It is very reliable and will make someone a great little collectible. The collector community is starting to snatch these cars up and they will soon be impossible to find. Especially with low miles.
