The real deal, original 409 equipped 1965 chevrolet impala. This car still holds its original turbo thrust 409. Numbers matching je block,[340 hp], and correct block production number matching the frame, vin plate, and title. My brother bought this car, some 28 years ago. Only 2828 409"s were produced, in 1965 out of nearly a million 1965 chevrolets. although not an ss, its well optioned. ps pb,tilt wheel,pwr seat, pwr windows, and super rare, w/ 409 factory air conditioning,engine has been rebuilt, about 10 years ago,and has less than 1000 miles. It was rebuilt by Dave Peyton of jim greens performance in lynnwood wa. very strong. The car was to be fully restored and was started to be taken apart about 8 years ago. Its current condition is as follows: engine has been removed, and as stated rebuilt. Have a rebuilt turbo 400 which was used during those 1000 miles, but do not have original powerglide,engine is complete.including,factory header like 65 only exhaust manifolds already restored, original air cleaner,etc,only trans, and later model carter afb is not original. Body has typical rust areas, front floor pans tacked in, need finishing, trunk, needs floor pan, very minor, splice of half trunk pan would eliminate all corrossion, rockers great, the exterior body panels are all in good shape and all paint minus very nice hood, have been stripped to bare metal. this car has been indoors for many years now, have all trim, bumpers, grill and hubcaps,etc coke bottle green glass is great, all windows and electric motors work good, front power seat was lost, and although headliner is still in car, will need interior,... have rear seat, and all door panels, and kick panels, this car drove into big bros shop, and the entire dash /factory tach/ wiring, un molested, this would make a great project,... body has not seen any damage, chevrolet stopped producing the 409 in early 1965, the only things missing, original trans, original carb, front seat.On Jun-01-10 at 22:00:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Additonal info: Block casting# 3857656 (1965 409) date code 240, Aug 28th Head casting# both 3830817 (1965 409) date codes, pass 270, Sept 27th, & drivers 267, sept 24th Intake casting# 3844465 (1965 340 hp 409) Engine front pad: T0918JE (Tonowanda, 09=sept, 18th, JE= 1965 409/340 hp powerglide) Engine front pad: 108618 serial number matching last 6 numbers of VIN# Cowl tag: trim 811= Black, Paint C-C= ermine white
