Vehicle Detail
This is a 1941 Ford Pickup Truck with a V-8 FlatHead engine that was built in the 1980's by my husband. The truck is a Maroon color with black fenders and black running boards. The interior of the truck is black. There are five white wall tires. and the bed of the truck is made of Oak with stainless steel strips running down between the pieces. This is a solid truck with NO BONDO in it. Has Arizona 1941 plates on it, and has 101,345 original miles on it. This truck also has two seat belts installed with storage under seat. There are a few things wrong with the truck that I know of: (1) There is an oil leak in the rear oil seal, (2) The gas gage doesn't work, (3) The windshield wipers are missing, but this vehicle has two windshield wiper motors installed on it. (On the orginal 1941 Ford Truck there was only one windshield wiper, on the drivers side). (4) Needs a new paint job (5) Possible rust on the door bottoms, small places elsewhere on the truck. This truck has The Mitchell "Model 1000" overdrive installed on it. It is a proven 2 speed synchromesh overdrive transmission with RPM reduction of approximatley 500-600 (at 55mph) that at 26% overdrive allows a comfortable Highway cruising speed. Not just an overdrive, with the synchromesh shifting feature, any gear can be split at any speed, giving you six forward gears instead of three. (Serial number of overdrive is 01 08 12449). The Model 1000 overdrive is not only an "Overdrive" but is also a "Gearsplitter", which means you have two speeds in each gear. (1) You have a neutral that conpletely disengages your existing transmission if your vehicle ever has to be towed. (2) You can shift on the "Fly" (direct to overdrive/overdrive to direct in any gear. (3) You have six (6) speeds forward 1st and 1st Overdrive, 2nd and 2nd Overdrive and 3rd and 3rd Overdrive. (4) You have two speeds in reverse, and it will do no damage to the overdrive if you back up in the overdrive mode. This overdrive can be shifted progressively, or could be left in overdrive, or be shifted fron one overdrive gear directly to another overdrive gear. The truck was driven daily by my late husband until the end of October when he got sick and could no longer drive. This truck was his "baby", and it needs a good home, someone who can appreciate the FLATHEAD V-8 ENGINE, his one true love, beside FORDS.
