Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is one bad 1969 Camaro. I built it but was forced to sell it due to personal reasons. My uncle was there to scoop it up. He is now looking to finish two other projects so asked me to help sell it since I know the car so well. If i could afford it, I'd buy it back in a second! :) First for the numbers matchin shoppers...this is an x44 350 car. It was not an RS from the factory. It has a small block never made by GM (440 ci) and a tranny that didn't exist in 69. It is what it is...one super fast bad a#$ muscle car with a race car engine and show car looks... To keep the description reasonably short I wiIl assume the reader knows or is familiar with the parts described so please dont hesitate to contact me if you have a question. Starting with the suspension... It has a Detroit Speed and engineering mini tub kit. It came with 2" lowering leaf springs. I narrowed the rear 4" total and put in Moser axles. It is a 3:36 10 bolt posi. The kit accomodates the 17" x 11" inch rear wheels. The front 17" x 8" chrome Torque Thrusts are held on by Heidt's tubular control arms. Front and rear sway bars keep the cornering tight... Also a Rick's Hot Rod Shop custom aluminum gas tank made for mini tubbed camaros was installed and I spent like $700 on it! The engine... I started with a 509 casting small block 400. I sent it to the machine shop where it was bored .060 over ....cam bearings ect. The above mentioned cubic inch is not a typo, the bore and stroke of this engine makes it a 440! I bought an Eagle balanced rotating assembly (over $1800) which included JE ultralite pistons, a forged 4" stroke crank and H-beam rods factory shaved for the stroke to clear. A lot of parts went into the build and I bought the best...arp bolts, special stroker oil pan, on and on. The heads are AFR (airflow research) They have 210 cc runners 208 and 160 valves and I drilled the steam holes for the 400 block. The part number is 1050..see afr's site for additional info. The intake is a performer rpm and the carb is a Mighty Demon, its actually a blo-thru carb but my plans for a procharger quickly changed when i found out i couldnt put the power i had to the ground. The cam is a Comp Cams roller known as the Big Mutha Thumpr. .533 .519 w 299 and 319 duration at .006 .... 107 lobe seperation. The lifters i bought cost me $500 so u know they are good... Yes I have a stack of receipts so when i mention prices... the proof is there. :) Anyway the trans needed to be strong and I wanted the drivability of an overdrive so I bought a TCI Super Street Fighter 700R4. Part # TCI-371100 ($2115.88) and a 3000 to 3500 stall 10" converter part # TCI-242963 ($435.88) Other parts I can think of are the 3" flowmaster exhaust system, A big aluminum radiator with a 1000 cfm electric fan to keep it cool, a Moroso Vacuum pump system, roller rockers, MSD ignition system...ect As you can see in the pics there are a lot of chrome parts... from hood hinges to motor mounts, alternator and electric water pump, brake booster/ master cyl to the hood latch and its support...all chrome. Lots of show to make you proud to open your hood at the local cruise... There are also a lot of new parts on the body such as the RS headlight door assemblies and reverse lights, door rubbers and misc trim pieces...also the 4" hood is steel. Well i could go on and on but the pics should tell the rest... its runs drives and stops great. The car is available for inspection prior to auctions end but once you won it, its yours...you will not be disappointed. The seller prefers cash to expedite the sale and minimize the opportunity of a scam. However if you must use a cashier's check or other means....the car will not be released and the title will not be signed until all funds clear. No exceptions. The title is a free and clear Ohio title. http://hotrodhockey.webs.com/ Click on this link to see a couple videos of the car. Also check back as I will be adding more pics to that site of the car's build when I get time...
