We are offering at auction a 1982 Mercedes Benz 300CD turbo diesel which has had one private registered owner since new.We have on hand the original title issued in 1982.The car has been religiously maintained since new as evidenced by the stamped maintenence booklet and hand written maintenence history shown in one of the photos, as well as the cars overall condition.This diesel starts as quickly as a gasburner and runs very well even after sitting for months.There is very little exhaust smoke even under hard acceleration.The 4 radial tires are proper size and have less than 100 miles of wear.The front tierods/balljoints were replaced at the same time and the car was aligned as well.The brakes are excellent front and rear with a firm pedal.The transmission shifts as designed and the car reaches freeway speed easily as the turbo is working properly as well.All power windows as well as power roof,power antennae,CLOCK!,factory stereo,gages,speedo,odometer,manual seat adjusters(fore/aft up/down and recline)and door locks are working.The cosmetic defects are well represented in the photos.The very bottom of the rear quarters have small spots of rust and the passenger front fender bottom is bubbling from a very old repair.The remainder of the metal is extremely straight and very solid top and bottom as shown in the photos.There are 2 cracks in the dash pad and age cracks in some of the wood veneer inserts but seats,carpets,door panels,headliner etc are exceptional for a 28 yr old 298k vehicle.Inspections/test drives/questions are all encouraged providing all are concluded BEFORE the end of the auction.Please see our last buyer feedback which happens to be an old Benz diesel!
