Vehicle Detail
This is a 1953 Packard Henney Ambulance. It is manual transmission - rare. It is a relatively untouched commercial vehicle. It has been repainted a few years back and while amature it is pretty decent (red and white). It looks to have always been relatively rust free though you can see where they repaired a spot at the bottom of each front fender. The storage compartments under the floor looked super nice and all the floors appear nice as well. It is missing the grill, but we do have the front bumper (though not the guards), the spare tire, and the wheel trim rings. The hood latch is broken, the windshield has a small bullseye chip near area top/center of steeering wheel area, and the roof lights are unmounted and sitting inside. Inside is what appears to be the original jump seats and original gurney. All trim and fittings seem to be inside. It has very nice cabinetry. The mileage is 43,000 I would say this vehicle lead a sheltered life and will make an easy restoration. Vehicle was last run a little over 3 years ago (and may be capable of running again with minimal work). Sorry about the pictures - it is between a group of other cars. This vehicle has been stored inside until April 2010 and needs to be sold as it will get ruined if it sits outside. I may have a title but I doubt it so car will be sold with a bill of sale and if title shows itself then please consider that a bonus. Basically this vehicle also has all the manual transmission parts to elliminate your slushamatic - manual transmisions in 53 are very rare. Vehicle is in North Dayton, Ohio. Vehicle should be removed promptly as it is at risk for vandalism through fencing. Please e-mail questions. On May-28-10 at 20:44:55 PDT, seller added the following information: It was brought to my attention that the mileage is 43,561 and not 43,000 - please take note on all future bids. My apology. On May-28-10 at 21:14:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, it has the little door for the side door lower storage compartment. It is in picture but I folded it down when I opened the side back door to take my pictures. It has a nice little chrome knob and is covered with matching maroon vinyl. I did not open the side back door on the passenders side as someone parked another car too close in our storage lot.On May-31-10 at 23:49:36 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer the ever popular question: Yes it has 4 really sweet 16" commercial chassis wheels under it and hubcaps are pretty decent as welll though have little dings and a few rust spects - they are better though than what I see running on some restored cars - they are the type without the enambled emblems. I will throw in 4 rough 16" lock rings (not from this vehicle and not of the quality of the rest of this vehicle). Do not bid on this unless you really want it and unless you can live by auction rules - NO EXCEPTIONS.
