This is my 1997 Ford F-250 XLT 4x4 with 144,270 miles. I have owned this truck for around 4 years and bought it off of eBay. This is a daily driver. On the highway, the 4.6L V8 gets 17mpg and 14mpg in town. It has a manual transmission that has never had a problem. There are many upsides and a few downsides to this reliable truck, and I will try to get them all. I originally bought this to haul, but I have never hauled anything with it. Upsides Title in hand MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!! Thrifty 4.6L V8 There have been no engine, transmission or starter problems for my four years of ownership, all in North Carolina 4x4 in good shape. 4x4 shifter good and indicator light on dash functional. Cruise Control AM/FM Cassette Double airbags Interior in nice shape considering age. No rips. Floorboards are solid. There is a cigarette burn here and there from past owners. The interior cleans up nicely. Nice Husky toolbox in back. It locks and I have one key for the box. I have two keys for the truck. New alternator (2010) 2 like new BF Goodrich back tires in 10/08 from Sams Club. Only 4k miles on these. Front tires are 30%. New brakelines in 11/07 Tow hitch and massive towing power, though I never have used this. Bedliner HUGE bed Oil change every 3k since I owned. We drive this three or four times per week for local commutes. Your mileage will be a little higher than 144,270. Seatbelts, glove box, interior and exterior lights, dash gauges and indicators work properly. Heat works Power windows work. Driver door window a little help up. Power locks work. Sometimes sticky. The finish is pretty shiny. There are scratches and just a bit of rust on the finish. This truck could go across the country. I would pick you up at Wilmington (ILM), NC airport. Raleigh (RDU), Jacksonville, NC (OAJ) and Myrtle Beach (MYR) cost $150 for a pickup. Downsides No AC. My mechanic says I need a new compressor if I want AC. Freon will not resolve this. It was like this since I bought the truck in 2006. "Check engine" light on. This has been there for about two years. It needs an exhaust manifold. This truck was in the north for some years before it came to NC and then to me. There is rust on the manifold and the underside of the truck. There are two large dents. Lower end of tail gate and right rear side panel. Tail gate functions properly with a little sticking. Power mirrors do not work. THIS IS NOT A NEW TRUCK!! I am selling this because my wife does not like the aesthetics of HER commuting vehicle, we want an SUV, and I just completed a weekend remodeling project and no longer need the long bed for 4x8 sheets.
