Up for sale is a 1997 Mercedes Benz C230. The car is well maintained. It has 106,050 miles. I am pricing the car at the Kelly Blue Book value of $3950. I just got a job in London and will be leaving West Palm Beach over the next week. The job relocation is the only reason I am selling the car. At 100,485 miles, I rebuilt the engine and replaced the timing chain for $2800.00. At 103,971 miles, I changed the transmission fluid and replaced the transmission conductor plate for $1030.00. I know of no other mechanical issues and the car runs well with a lot of tread left on the tires. I have all the receipts and changed the oil on the new engine every 3K miles with synthetic oil. In total, I have put more than $3800.00 into the car over the past four months. The reserve is set low. As a 13 year old car, it has some very minor cosmetic flaws (i.e. very minor scratches) and the power locks only lock from the passenger side door. It was garage kept most of its life. I never got a chance to replace the lock on the driver’s side. Also, the cam sensor should be replaced for $130. My mechanic said that while the cam sensor is not effecting the operation of the car, it is causing the check engine light to remain on. There is also a small tapping sound that my mechanic identified as a small lifter issue. He also indicated that this would not affect the operation of the car and that it could be replaced for about $200. Air-conditioning blows low and may need freon. Any further questions, please ask.
