1974 Corvette Convertible. One owner. 60K original miles Both tops. This is an estate sale. I am the executor of the estate. The decedent was a family member. This car was owned by a US Navy Captain who bought it new in 1974 and babied it throughout its life. It has been very well maintained and always stored inside and covered. It is in very good condition. The car is titled and registered in the decedent’s name in Louisiana and inspected through October 2011. It is insured with American Collectors for an agreed value of $35,000 based on recent appraisal. The title is clear and I will provide a bill of sale and all estate paperwork necessary for title transfer. Car facts: The car has been inspected and prepared for sale Performance Restorations of San Antonio (www.restoremyvette.net). They recommended and performed the following work in March 2010:New 280 HP 350 GM engine, appropriate for the model. With engine warranty. (approximately 100 miles on new engine). Engine painted appropriate for the model. New (remanufactured) 4bbl carburetor appropriate for the model. New water pump, clutch, alternator, belts, hoses, fuel lines and engine mounts. New heater core New radiator I directed Performance restorations to inspect and correct all mechanical issues with the car and all other components checked OK. In its current condition, the car runs and drives as new. Paint is in exceptional condition over the entire body. Receipts for all recent work included with the car. Rag top is original and is in good condition. Original factory hard-top included. Michelin tires are in very good condition. Exhaust system is in excellent condition and maintained with stock parts. Headlights raise and lower as they should. Split tail is appropriate for the 1974 model year. This is the only year with a split tail. No performance modifications have ever been performed on this car. It has been kept true and original. Known defects: Paint chip on the driver’s side door. (pictured). The AC does not work. All parts are present, but the condition is unknown. The heater/blower switch is faulty. The heater works, but the variable speed fan switch only works in the on or off position. The rear panel clasps for the convertible top are missing. These are available from Eckler’s for around $200. The front bumper nose piece cracked. (pictured). The clock does not work. Interior wear is normal for age and mileage. The car is located in San Antonio, Texas and available for inspection. Other than the warranty on the new engine, the car is sold “as is” and with no warranty. I will assist with local pickup or transport and assist with local appraisal or inspection at the buyer’s discretion and cost. I am somewhat familiar with the history of the car.
