Here is just some information about it: In 1990 the interiors were completely redesigned. The instrument panels were redesigned, inset under a half-moon shaped panel with additional controls. The door trim was redesigned, as was the overhead console and bucket seats. The center console was completely redone, now including a parking brake lever, replacing the foot operated unit in previous Daytonas. The manual shifter was completely redesigned, and was light years ahead of the previously notchy shifters. On the Shelby, the center console also included buttons for the standard electronic suspension controls - although, except for pre-production prototypes, these controls were never actually installed in any Daytona. The steering wheel now had cruise control buttons included on it. In all, the new interior was absolutely stunning, and really put the Daytona into a new league. Other changes included an optional security system on the Daytona ES Turbo and Shelby. The digital instrumentation that was optional on the Daytona ES Turbo and Daytona Shelby was dropped. In addition, the ground effects were now the same color as the rest of the car. A new V-6 engine became available in 1990. Built by Mitsubishi, the 3.0 liter V-6 came with multi-port fuel injection, overhead cams, and aluminum cylinder heads. It wasn't more powerful than the turbo 4's. :) The VNT Turbo also appeared in 1990. This was the 174-horsepower intercooled Turbo II engine, now with the addition of dual counter-rotating balance shafts, and a variable-nozzle turbocharger. The VNT engine incorporated 12 movable vanes, positioned by computer solenoids to optimize power. The primary benefit was eliminating "turbo lag" - the period of time it takes the turbo to spool up after you slam the accelerator pedal. The VNT engine greatly reduced turbo lag, providing improved performance, reducing 0-60 times to under 7 seconds. The VNT Turbo (called the Turbo IV) was available only on the 1990 Daytona Shelby with the VNT Package (1990 ONLY) or C/S Competition Package. Other improvements to the Shelby included larger brake calipers and rotors - 247.6 square inches in front and 177.8 square inches of swept area in the rear.
