Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 7.3l Powerstroke diesel. The vehicle was purchased in 2002, from Courtesy Ford in Littleton Colorado (see attached window sticker). It is equipped with a 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel engine which is well known for its reliability and excellent fuel mileage. The engine oil has been changed every 3k miles using Shell Rotella T. The vehicle has a little under 176k miles most of which are highway miles to and from Colorado and Iowa. The vehicle resided in Colorado for its entire life up until 6 months ago when I moved to Davenport Ia. It has been well maintained and has been a very reliable vehicle since the day of purchase. The Excursion is equipped with power windows, power locks, power/heated mirrors, back up sensors, running boards, towing package, adjustable pedals, power/heated driver and passenger seats, rear audio and AC control, over head read out (mpg, miles until empty, etc.) and LCD front heater control. The excursion is equipped with the limited package which includes two tone leather seats, captain chairs in the second row and wood grain inserts found on the doors and center consol. The vehicle remained complete stock with no modification until right around 170k. This is when all modification were added. These include a custom tuned chip by Jody from Dp Tuner. It includes 7 different positions (Stock, quiet idle, high idle, 60hp, 80hp, 120hp and 140hp programs). This is by far the best chip you can purchase for the 7.3l powerstroke. An AFE stage 2 intake with prefilter was added along with a 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust with a stainless steel 5" tip and a LED black third brake light. You will also find 22" KMC Monsters on LT305/50/r22 Toyo Open Country A/T, the tires and wheels were purchased a few months back and have less than 3,000 miles on them. Tires and wheels were over 3000 dollars (tires were 425 each wheels were 400). The front end was lifted two inches to accommodate the larger tires doing so with lowering the front factory springs with shackles so it would still retain the factory ride. I have had two lifted superduty diesel and all of them rode significantly rougher after changing out the springs so that was the last thing I wanted to do with this vehicle. To top it off I had the complete front end of the vehicle change to a 2007 front end. All work was done professional at Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, IA one of the largest dealerships in the U.S. The work includes a 2007 front bumper, grille and 2007 black harley davidson headlights and other parts need for the swap. The entire front end was painted to match in Mineral Gray. At the time of having this work done I had no intentions of ever selling the vehicle. You can't beat the combination of the 7.3l with the 2007 front end. While it was at Karl Chevrolet it had a complete brand new OEM transmission and torque converter installed. The original transmission was in excellent shape and shifted perfectly however the oil cooler went bad and ended up running the transmission dry of transmission fluid. The total from Karl Chevrolet was 8,791.66. I have all receipts and work that has ever been done to the vehicle. Couple minor things I wanted to bring to attention: The lift shocks to the rear latch are going bad and will need replaced shortly. The rear entertainment is not hooked up to the Kenwood KVT815 Indash however can be easily done I just had no need for the rear entertainment so it wasn’t too big of a deal to me. The exterior is overall in excellent condition especially for having 175k miles. Couple areas to look at: passenger rear fender flare is scratched in front and behind the tire. Front bumper has a scratch on the passenger side. There is also a small dent (size of a ball point pen) that could be easily removed on driver’s door. I removed one “excursion” badge no knowing there are holes behind it and it looked bad so removed all of them with the plan of getting new ones. You can buy the three new badges from fordemblem.com for no more than 125 dollars if you wish to have them on the vehicle. The Excursion is sold as is and where is however I will help assist the buyer in shipping if needed. A $500 deposit is required within 48 hrs of the closing of the auction and final payment is required by a verified certified check within 72 hrs unless other arrangements are agreed upon. There is so much I’m forgetting so please feel free to contact for any other questions!
