Vehicle Detail
Get ready all you Honda V-4 guys, because this is the one you've been waiting for! This bike is super, super fast, super comfy, and handles very, very well! She is very tight and solid with no strange creaking or noises or vibrations. And just look how she shines! 1985 Honda V65 Sabre in black/silver. She has the top end oiling modification (with steel braided lines), slightly hotter cams, a jet kit, Cobra F1 slip-ons, Corban seat, hi performance plug wires, manual radiator fan switch, and even comes with a rolling parts bike as shown in the pics. As you can see in the pictures below, the parts bike was running when I started taking parts off of it (it was blue/silver with a full fairing) so you get alot of spares with it. General information Model: Honda V65 VF1100S Sabre Year: 1985 Category: Sport touring Engine and transmission Displacement: 1098.00 ccm (67.00 cubic inches) Engine type: V4 Stroke: 4 Power: 121.00 HP (88.3 kW)) @ 9500 RPM Torque: 94.00 Nm (9.6 kgf-m or 69.3 ft.lbs) @ 7500 RPM Max RPM: 9500 Compression: 10.5:1 Bore x stroke: 79.5 x 55.3 mm (3.1 x 2.2 inches) Fuel system: Carburettor. 4 CV 36 mm Valves per cylinder: 4 Fuel control: DOHC Ignition: Electronic Lubrication system: Wet Sump Cooling system: Liquid Gearbox: 6-speed Transmission type final drive: Shaft drive (cardan) Clutch: Wet Physical measures Chassis and dimensions Frame type: Double Cradle Rear brakes: Single disc Exhaust system: 4 into 2 Speed and acceleration Top speed: 249.0 km/h (154.7 mph) If you're a V65 Sabre lover you know that there were a few issues that sometimes surface with these awesome machines. However, this one suffers from NONE of them! Specifically: Fork brace is intact and not cracked Transmission is SOLID with no second gear issue whatsoever Top end oiling kit using steel braided lines Shaft drive is quiet, tight, and solid Rear shock functions perfectly Manual radiator fan switch (they had a tendency to overheat in traffic because the fan would not turn on) I love classic Honda bikes and have had several, but this is the last one I've got and it's time for her to go as well. She was a fair weather bike, meaning not my daily driver. I rode her frequently when it was nice out, but one day when I was pulling up to a stop sign she stopped getting spark. I took her home and put a new ignition module in and she ran fine. Then she did it again and I simply never got around to rectifying it because the rainy season was about to start so I was in no hurry. Then, well, you know the story... "real life" got in the way and I never got around to doing it. As a result she's been resting patiently in storage for a while and will need this and a battery before she can be ridden. Due to impending life changes, personal commitments, and space constraints she sadly needs to be converted to cash quickly and I simply have no time to invest her (even though I'd LOVE to get a couple last rides in on her) so it's truly a "my loss, your gain" story; because if she was turn-key, fly in & drive home I could get WAY more for her... and we BOTH know it! (of course, that means you'd pay WAY more for her too!) For that matter, I could make WAY more off her if I were to cruelly dismember her and sell her in pieces, but as a cyclephile I'd much rather see her go to a good and loving home. That being said, I'm not going to give her away for less than the opening bid; so if she doesn't sell I'll regretfully part her out. The opening bid is WELL worth the seat, slip-ons, tank, and instrument cluster ALONE!!! Not to mention she comes with a rolling parts bike as well! For that matter, just her motor/tranny is worth the opening bid. I have quite a few spare parts in storage including a factory Hondaline case guard, a Corban "king and queen" seat, steel braided brake lines, Supertrapp slip-ons, and a factory set of slip-ons. If I come across them before the auction is over I will make note of it in this listing and they will be included WITH the bike! I try to describe items I sell the best that I can because I want you to know what you're getting and be happy with it. To my knowledge everything works as it should aside from her not getting spark; but that being said she's been in storage for a while so there is NO WARRANTY or guarantee whatsoever on the bike or it's condition either mechanically or electrically. Thus, she is being sold "as-is/where-is" and shipping is YOUR responsibility from start to finish. For $175 I will be happy to take her to a shipping company in either Austin or Dallas for THEM to crate and ship at YOUR risk and cost, but I will not arrange it on your behalf nor will I be responsible for ANYTHING that happens to it either in transit to the shipper or once it is dropped off at the shipper. You are both welcomed and encouraged to visually inspect the bike in person before you bid. I want you to be happy with your purchase and I have nothing to hide. Feel free to ask any questions by either email or by contacting me by phone. My number is 254.541.0706 and you can call pretty much any time between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. central standard time. The pictures below tell the story of the condition of the bike and of how she has been babied and cared for. There are no dents or scrapes but there are a couple of very minor paint imperfections, though nothing that can be seen unless you're pretty close to the bike. She has a little bit of surface flashing, but nothing that an afternoon with some Q-tips, CLR, and Mother's couldn't resolve. The side covers have intact tabs, the rear cowling and grab rail aren't perfect, and she has no rear blinkers. I have the rears and they come with the her, but the stalks are broken. There are a few normal imperfections that come from riding and age, but nothing at all out of the ordinary and overall far less than bikes a fourth of her age. That all being said as you can see she's in great (but not perfect) shape cosmetically, so look carefully at the pictures and ask any questions BEFORE you bid. If you win this auction the ONLY questions I expect to hear when you pick her up are, "Can you help me get her loaded?" and "Will hundreds be ok?"! A $200 deposit by PayPal is required immediately upon auction close, and final payment is to be ONLY in cash when you pick up the bike unless you make prior arrangements with me. NO EXCEPTIONS! Bike should be picked up within a week after the auction, though alternative arrangements can be made if need be. I'm pretty easy going so the bike can be securely stored (covered and inside a locked building surrounded a security fence and locked gate) at no charge for a reasonable period of time, so if you need more than a week to come get it give me a call BEFORE the auction ends and lets work out the payment terms. By bidding on this auction you agree to all the terms and conditions stated within the listing. Now... shots of her (taken on Friday, May 7th, 2010) in all her glory! Where will you find another one with this kind of mileage? Here are some shots of the parts bike... Yes, the motor is good! If you have any questions feel free to email or call. Thanks, and good luck! :) Because of loser, non-paying bidders, unscrupulous charlatans, scurrilous scam artists, and other nefarious no-gooders I have no choice but to state very clearly that by bidding on this auction you irrefutably agree to the following: Buyer's winning bid is a binding contract to purchase the motorcycle, not a starting point of price negotiation or the right to inspect it and/or decline purchase. Buyer MUST pay in cash ONLY when picking up the vehicle. No discount will be given when Buyer arrives to pick up the motorcycle for ANY reason. The bike is being sold "as-is/where-is", any and all transportation is Buyer's sole responsibility. The bike is currently non-op and will need to be trailered or shipped. If Buyer chooses not to take the parts bike no discount will apply. The bike is not getting spark, but other than that everything was operating as it should when it was parked and I know of no other mechanical or electrical defects or snafus. Buyer agrees that in light of the above statement no warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied, nor should either be inferred. By bidding you are satisfied and agree that I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability and that I have disclosed all defects (mechanical/electrical/cosmetic) that I'm aware of. By bidding you are completely satisfied with the condition of the motorcycle mechanically, electrically, and cosmetically; and accept it's condition and all defects disclosed by Seller and/or unknown to Seller. Buyer will hold Seller blameless for any defect(s) Buyer may discover upon further inspection of vehicle after the sale. Buyer will hold Seller completely and wholly blameless for any repairs, damage, or expenses incurred by the Buyer in relation to this motorcycle REGARDLESS of reason. If Buyer contracts Seller to deliver vehicle to shipping agent Buyer agrees to hold Seller blameless in the event of ANY and ALL damage that may be incurred during transport of vehicle to shipping agent. Buyer agrees to hold Seller blameless in the event of ANY and ALL damage that may be incurred while vehicle is in possession of shipping agent. Buyer agrees to forfeit any and all rights to civil redress against Seller irrespective of reason. If Buyer refuses to complete sale for ANY reason Buyer immediately and irrevocably forfeits any and all rights in civil and/or criminal court, and Buyer further agrees to pay all fees associated with Seller pursuing a court judgment against Buyer; including, but not limited to: any and all court costs and filing fees, any and all travel costs (.30/mile travel cost PLUS all gas, lodging, food, etc.), in addition to a flat per diem fee of $200 per day. Buyer will not leave negative feedback or less than 5 stars for ANY reason, because Seller has made every attempt to disclose the mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic condition of the vehicle; and because Seller has further made the vehicle available to an in-person inspection to prospective bidders prior to bidding. Bidders agree that the above terms and conditions supercede any and all eBay terms, conditions, and rights; and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions by bidding on this auction.
