Vehicle Detail

Note: After the last auction ended, I had two bidders who wanted the bike and requested a "buy it now" relisting....... Here it is....Good luck to all who might be interested. Collectors, take note! Up for auction here is a very clean 1989 Honda RS 125 factory roadracer in excellent condition. Not too many of these appear up for auction in the US and they are getting harder to find as many bikes of this era are in the hands of private collectors (like me). A two stroke, track only bike that I know will find a good home. Here’s what I know about the bike; the previous owner campaigned the bike in AMA and WERA up until 1993 or so and reported winning races on this bike against both Tommy and Nicky Hayden. Since that time, the bike was sitting on display in the owner’s living room. I have not touched the bike since I acquired it as I have a few other restoration projects in the queue list before I could possibly get to this one. The bike came to me from California and now resides in storage in Connecticut. If you are looking at this bike, you may know more about the Honda RS series than I do so if you see something in the photos of interest, please drop me a line and let me know. The fiberglass is in good shape and the paint work is also professional in appearance. The bike does have a cracked windscreen which could be easily acquired from Gusstaffson or other race screen suppliers. The bike is complete to my eye with the frame and swingarm fully polished. The water temp gauge has been replaced with a quality fluid filled unit. Brakes drag a little bit so a little elbow grease would of course be required in that area as this trophy bike has sat for 17 years or so. Bridgestone slicks still great for display but a fresh set would be order before riding. I have not started the bike since I got it and would recommend a “look see” by a competent two stroke motor guy (or gal) before firing it up and turning laps on this bike. The classic factory two stroke roadracers may be almost gone but will never be forgotten. Grab the chance to acquire a piece of Honda history via this factory GP type bike while you still can. Any questions will be gladly answered in timely fashion. I will answer one question in advance; the reserve price will remain undisclosed but rest assured that it is very reasonable. Good luck to any and all bidders. Buyer responsible for all shipping logistics and costs. I had good luck with Uship in getting this bike cross-country at a fair price.
