Vehicle Detail
Complete 1973 Scout II Restoration Project, Runs Great, Everything is there. Buy it now option includes a T19 6.32 1st gear transmission and a Scout Dana 300 Transfer case for only another $475 if winning bidder so desires. This option goes away if reserve price is met before buy it now option is selected. Body is solid except for front corners of rear fenders; is restorable. Front body mounts are 40% deteriorated but for replacement I have new front body mounts, cab mounts, rear quarter filler panels, and all new urethane body mount bushings for this vehicle. The rear quarter filler panels fit between the door and the rear wheelwell. You need to cut out the old metal and weld these in, use body filler and paint. All the other structural members under the body are solid and intact. There is no significant amount of rust really. The majority of the underside of the tub has had some sort of mild undercoating applied. It may not be favorable but it is a very thin application; even easy to remove. As for the portion of body between the doors and front corner of the rear wheel wells; I don’t know why they decayed but the rest of the rear fender/wheel well area did not. The tub/body is in good condition. There are some minor details that still need to be tended to; door locks, door and top weather seals, rear lid latch, gages are new but need to be wired. For the time being there is an auxiliary gage console mounted near the shifter and is functional till stock gages are wired up. Has 72 front grille, Dana 44’s front and rear, Front Disc Brakes, IH 345ci V8, rebuilt 3000 miles ago. GM TBI Fuel Injection conversion; it is getting 16 mpg. It runs excellent and drives great on the highway, easily cruises along at highway speeds with no troubles. It does well offroad. In 4H and 2H low end is a bit dogish due to running 33" tires and stock 3.73 differential gears. In 4L it does great. Has original rear locking differential. Vacuum brake booster has been replaced with a Hydroboost brake conversion, Transmission is a T18 4 speed with Dana 20 transfer case. Frame and undercarriage are in great shape. Tires are Toyo 33x12.5x15 Open Country M/T and are brand new. Has New bucket seats, original Scout II center console, and epoxy bedliner replaces the interior carpet. The tires are literally brand new and go for close to $925 mounted, the TBI system goes for nearly $1500 new. This is a used system off of a 92 GMC ¾ ton. The Hydroboost brake system is a used booster off a Astro Van and the rest of the components are new; this would be nearly $600 form Vancopbs.com.It is all on a running Scout that passes safety and smog plus everything else I mention in the previous item description.
