Vehicle Detail

Up for bids is a project car i recently aquired for a "someday" project, for my grandson and i. It would have been perfectly suitable for that purpose, but luck would have it a "BBD"(Bigger, better deal) came along. I purchased this BBD, and no longer need to store this away. It is a 1964 Corvair convertible with powerglide automatic transmission, six cylinder/w dual 1 barrell carburetors. It has a "rare" power top option. As you can see from the pics, this is a mostly primered,"project car". Which means it is a car needing restoration. I believe it is a good candidate for restoration, and would be good for someone wanting to restore a 60's convertible on a budget. The engine is intact and it turns over, however i do not know the overall condition of the engine or trans. The majority of the parts are there, but the interior would need all new panels and upholstery. There are probably mechanicals and mechanisms unnamed that will need TLC, and i won't address every single part, so look closely at the pics to see if this is what you need for a project. I have many addtional pics, and if you email me at beelee87@aol.com i'll send you more. You are welcome to see the car prior to auctions end to inspect it. Just email me and i'll arrange a viewing. This car is surprisingly lacking the typical rusted through areas, however the floor pan rusted at the back seat area due to a leak in the top directly over that area many years ago. It was brought indoors after that, but the damage had allready been done. I spotted some rust through in the battery tray, some in the trunk floor, and a little developing on the rear quarter lip. I will try to picture as much as i can in this auction. Of course it needs a top also. The nice part is that you can still get allmost any piece or part you need for this restoration from aftermarket vendors. I have a clear title that was signed by the owner, but have not placed the car in my name. I will be glad to give a bill of sale, and hand over the title, but you are buying the car "as is". There will be no reserve on this car so if you bid, you, or the highest bidder will be the owner of this car. Do not bid if you have less than 10 feedback, without prior permission from me, or i WILL cancell your bid. Questions are welcome. For the performance minded, i have a non original turbo engine NOT included in this auction, that can be negotiated separately. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for transport of this car. It does not run,is not roadworthy, and must be trailered. My starting bid is low with NO RESERVE. Happy bidding! Revision; In my efforts to describe the Corvair as completely as i can, without being long winded i left out that there is a dent and hole in the driver side rear corner(near the taillights) , that appears like a sharp object was thrust into the corner. You should be able to see it in the pics,i thought it is significant enough it should be mentioned. Revision II; The pics i posted don't do this car justice,so i'll be posting new and better pics . Also i won't be relisting this car if it does not sell;the fees for listing this are too excessive.
