Vehicle Detail
Selling a great old vintage International Harvester pickup that is in original condition. This truck was always stored inside, and would be an easy restoration. Is a 1949 KB3, has the longer box, and has the green diamond 214 engine. Truck comes with original title, original invoice when truck was bought and the original owner's and drivers manual in great condition. Was ordered with the 8 1/2 foot body, auxiliary springs, 4 speed, 8 ply tires, and is a no. 50 Red. Was paid in cash and cost a whopping; $1861.80. This truck has 38526 miles and was a great farm truck, only bad part is the bird droppings inside the shed got rid of most of the hood and fender paint. The chrome is excellent, this heavy metal body has NO rust, is solid. Has some light corrosion on the fender/body sections and the back right fender has dents. This truck has the wood rack hand made and the tailgate taken off so a grain door could be installed. (as this truck was used to haul seed out to the field). The original tailgate is excellent, was only stored and never used, is included but would need to redo the back to make it mount on again. The wood and metal rails were all redone and look great. Floor of box is dented up from use. Pickup interior is really nice and clean, seat does have some holes from on the driver side. Front window cranks out, wipers don't work and the passenger window is cracked. Nice clean floor and even the headliner is great. All instruments still work as do the lights. Needs new door, cowl, and hood seals. Tires are still the hard 8 ply tires and still hold air and in good condition. Might even be original, not sure as is was mostly driven on prairie roads, not on the highway. The engine runs smooth as silk, purrs like a kitten. ONly hard to start when its been sitting for long periods, takes awhile to get the gas to carb. As for the engine, never been touched inside. Outside it has new brake master cylinder, radiator professionally redone, new hoses, belts, carb kit, fuel pump and generator also redone. Gas tank was cleaned, new plugs, wires, points, dist. cap. Does need only a new oil filter and probably the axles greased and brakes checked. Muffler in place but tailpipe is off. Brake fluid is new also and lines bled out, brakes work. You don't find many 60 year old trucks in original condition anymore. I am only the second owner, was my uncles truck and hate to sell but have my 56 Chevy Wagon to fix. Not much work and this old farm truck would make a great driver. email any questions. On Apr-28-10 at 05:40:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to add, there is also the original spare tire and wheel, tire jack, and some chains for the tires. There are also extra fan belts and other engine parts along with the complete repair manual for this and other International trucks.
