Vehicle Detail
This is a 1996 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. I am the third owner. Car is 99% percent stock. It has a KN filter. It comes with original: Owners manual, window sticker, rims, factory key-less entry and panic alarm, premium CD player, Turbo, Head, Block, Transmission, interior, Cargo cover, Transfer case and differential. It is very hard to find these AWD models completely unmolested. This thing even has the Original intercooler silencers on it. Has new: Water pump, timing belt, auto tensioner, accessory belts, plugs, wires, battery, tires, head-gasket, head studs, fresh coolant, full synthetic oil and premium filter, full flush and fill on ATF+4 and new tranny filter. The car has a fresh rebuilt cylinder head and brand new gaskets everywhere less than 100 miles on all these parts. With the car will come: w4a33 transmission to replace the one in it. Original window sticker, I bought this Talon knowing it had a bad transmission. I purchased a new transmission that I still have to go with the car. I wanted to try fixing the one in it first though. I drained the fluid put a new filter in the transmission and put it all together. It worked great after this. About 2 weeks later is started slipping again. So i decided to do a full flush clean new seals and gaskets and another new filter. The cars water pump was also leaking. I bought a new Water pump, Timing belt, spark plugs, wires, and battery. After installing the new pump and T belt the timing belt auto-tensioner failed and caused the car to jump timing. Compression check shows 30-30-40-40. So I pulled the head off and had the local machine shop redo it. Cleaned, amazingly decked, new valves, guides, stem seals, and lifters. Put a full gasket set on. Head gasket, intake, exhaust, turbo, throttle body, valve cover, spark plug, cam seals, water pump. Made sure timing was perfect. I spent about 20 hours painting everything with high temp enamel. Its not perfect but my first time. Looks great though.I also painted the hood, which was keyed. I still need to wet sand and buff it to a good shine. Car starts perfect. The bad: The transmission in the vehicle now probably needs rebuilt. It is still hesitating to go in forward gears and O/D still not working. I have put 2 new filters and about 20 quarts of Castrol Chrysler ATF+4. Pulled the valve body off and cleaned it all very well and added new transmission shift solenoids But: Have a used w4a33 that has about 60k on it. I do not have a car lift for changing the transmission. I also don't enjoy the auto. The car ran great, turbo spooled hard, good quality ride, warmed up quickly, A/C blew cold, all lights and buttons work, NO check engine light. Very little lifter tick, no smoke. It does leak a tiny bit of oil. Gets about 20 mpg on 91. I am also open for trade offers! Looking for something reliable and family oriented, 4 door, SUV. Feel free to offer anything or ask any questions! Less than 10 feedback? Contact me before bidding. Had 2 no payers in a row.
