Vehicle Detail

Time to sell ! Up for auction is my 1970 Chevelle SS 396. This is not a clone. I purchased this car 12 years ago from a Muscle Car dealer in South Carolina, most of the work was done on the car by them. There is no rust on the car whatso ever, it has been garaged and covered since I aquired it. It does not have the original motor. It does have a correct 396 built to 375 hp standards and a Borg Warner 4 speed transmission. Husrt shifter and linkage. New edelbrock 4 barrel carb. New battery, paint, emblems, inter.ior ( seats, carpets, headliner, door panels) and new custom SS mats in the trunk that have never been used. It does have a spare wheel in the trunk but no tire on it. The engine does have headers on it and a new exhaust system with the correct crome tips. The vinyl top is new also. About 1 year ago the syncros let go in the transmission and I took the car off the road with the intention of having it rebuilt. I was taken ill and this never happened. Therefore the syncros need to be replaced, Also since it has been off the road the fuel pump has gone bad on it, There is a new fuel pump in the trunk that comes with the car. I put gas directly into the carb and the car fired right up. Also since the car has been sitting the brakes appear to have locked up when we tried to push it out of the garage it would not roll out. So therefore there are a few things that need to be done to get it back on the road. The motor has less than 500 miles on it since it was replaced. This was an air conditioned car but the previous owner removed everthing under the hood for the ac, but it still has all of the 4 season ac controls in the dash. This is not a show car but would make a very clean driver and could easily be made into a show car if desired. Everything is there that needs to be, I just dont have the time, money or physical ability to work on it anymore and my wife and I agreed it would be best to sell it. The car is being sold, as- is, where is and is the buyers responsibilty to pay for and arrange shipping. I will require a non- refundable deposit of $500.00 with in 24 hours of the auction ending and payment must be made in full within 7 days before I will release the car for shpping, Title is clear and in hand. Please if you do not have the money in hand, please do not bid, alos, those with negative feedback please refrain from bidding as I am looking to sell the car and prefer a smoothe transaction. Thanks for understanding. On Apr-20-10 at 18:45:11 PDT, seller added the following information: I will try to clear up the confusion about the dash. The previous owner took the woodgrain insert from a Monte Carlo and removed the mounting tabs, he then glued it on top of the Chevelle dash. It is only an insert and can be removed. It is not a Monte Carlo dash, just a piece of plastic. If i have the time I will try to remove it and add pictures as proof . The car came from Low Country Classics in South Carolina, the vin is 136370K108931 feel free to call them and ask them for proof about its authenticity. It was purchased from them 11 years ago. They might still have records available from the sale. I hope that clears up the confusion . On Apr-23-10 at 17:24:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Some one on Ebay, knowledgeable in Chevelles was kind enough to supply info on the vin #. 1= chevrolet, 3= chevelle, 6= V8, 37= 2 door coupe, k= kansas city plant, 108931 = number of chevelles made before this one. RPO U14 = dash board codee with gauges, ZL2 hood pins, SS option only, RPO D88= hood and deck stripes. According to this gentleman, he stated that based onthe pics and the vin number he had no doubt that this is in fact an original SS car. I thank him very much for his help.
