Vehicle Detail

This car is being sold as-is without a warranty, so I will be as truthful as possible and will answer all questions. Do not bid if you don’t want to accept those terms. The car has many new parts; Heater Core, 2 of 4 tires; rear brakes, MA inspection in Sept., recent tune up and oil change. The car hasn’t run since December. It was a daily driver up to that time, but was stalling out periodically, then one day just wouldn’t start. I suspect a fuel pressure or spark problem, but haven’t tried to troubleshoot it. Whoever buys this car must be prepared to have it towed. I do not want the new owner attempting to fix it in my driveway. I am the third owner. You can pre-view the car in Western MA. I will not arrange freight. The Good: The body and paint are in good to very good condition. No rust, chassis is solid. Doesn’t look like it was ever hit. Car was garaged for most of its life. The bumpers are strong but the bumper moldings (silver plastic inlays) are shot. All the pieces to the body are intact, including the headlight wipers, which I have unplugged. The interior is in very good condition considering it’s age. The leather is very good, the only problem being one seam on the driver’s seat has become unstitched. One of two plastic horn buttons is missing. The fabric headliner sags in spots, but pulls tight in dry weather. Could use a good cleaning. The power windows and sunroof are functional. The A/C worked in summer 2009. Heated seats, both work. Power rear view mirror works. Dash panel is mostly clean, and intact (a weakness of Saab 900’s) Heater core was replaced in September 2009 and new antifreeze was installed. The factory Clarion radio/cassette and power antennae work. The hatchback springs are strong. The engine was strong when last running. Factory spare and jack are still there, as is the rear deck panel. I installed a Ford Taurus cup and change holder in the open panel of the "dog house". Fits like a glove. The Bad: Car refuses to start. The cruise control stopped working in 2009. The second gear bands on the auto trans are weak, so it usually goes from 1st gear to 3rd. If you’re a Saab lover, with time and a garage, this would be a good little project car. Certainly would be a great parts car for a frame up rehab.
