Vehicle Detail
What I have here is a 1978 Plymouth Volare Premiere station wagon. Drivetrain-The powerhouse under the hood is a 225 cubic inch slant six back by a 904 Torquefleight automatic transmission and an 8 1/4 rear axle. Power disk brakes in the front and drums in the rear with a good and responsive pedal. The steering in the car is firm and tight as it needs to be and tracks good down the road and is steady on the highway. The engine runs like new and doesn't skip a beat. You can drive this car all day long and it will always run cool and never pops, sputters, or diesels. The carb is very dialed in with good throttle response. The car will always start rite up hot or cold. The car just got a recent tune up with new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. The car also has a new water pump, thermostat and radiator hoses. Body- The car is exceptionally solid and clean. I've photographed the frame rails and floor pans front to back and checked it over on a lift and everything looks solid and clean as it should be. The paint has a nice shine to it and doesn't appear ti have any dents or noticeable scratches anywhere. The bumpers need to be polished and as you can see the grill has a chip (i have the pieces, too cold to fix it now) and there's some minor rust near the gasket on the bottom right hand side of the hatch (visible in photograph). The rest of the chrome and trim on the car is straight and clean. The luggage rack and its little wing on the back are also straight and clean. The car originally had hubcaps and I upgraded it recently to these near mint condition Magnum 500's and Hankook tires which barely have 500 miles on them. The Mag wheels also have new center caps. Interior- I can personally say up until I found this car I had no idea you could get a Volare with plaid interior. I don't know how many they made but I don't think many of them are left. The seats are original to the car and have held up exceptionally well considering the age. There is a small seam under the armrest that is barely starting to open. Fortunately its not noticable and in an easy spot to repair. The factory headliner isn't sagging or broken. All the original carpet is still in place with no rips. The dashpad is also in perfect condition. All the gauges dash lights, accessory buttons. and switches work perfectly including the radio and climate control. Options-Factroy A/C -Cruise Control -Tilt Wheel-Rear Window defrost-Dual Mirrors-AM/FM Stereo (Comes in crystal clear)-Fold Down rear seat The Volare has a clean NJ title.
