Vehicle Detail

Why I am selling the car and its present condition and history: I will be traveling outside the USA for 3-6 months starting December 3rd. Registration renewal due January 8 (DMV 2019 Annual Registration $262) and several items of maintenance are now pending, so I am selling the car after 5 happy years of ownership. During my most recent (09/29/2018) oil service appointment, my shop (G & N Motors, Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles) told me the following: 1. Needs replacement catalytic converters soon. Shop estimates 6-12 months before needs replacement to pass Smog Test. Produces a rattling noise under car. Shop estimate for repair: $1,600. 2. Needs replacement engine mounts. Car vibrates when it idles at a complete stop. Shop estimate for repair: $800. Three other items come to mind: The sunroof has been finicky in the past. I did not need to replace the motor but the shop had to "reset" it for me once. I have avoided using it. The Driver's side seat motor only advances the seat forward. To move the seat back I had to push it backwards with my legs. The car has a "Salvage" Title due to an event in 2009 (before I bought the car). According to the previous owner, it was the original owner's minor rear fender-bender. I have had ZERO adverse experience with the car structurally (no alignment issues, etc.). The car has 132,000 miles after 20 years, very lightly driven and the engine appears to be in fantastic condition. Interior is clean, tires are in good condition (including a full-size spare) and I am a non-smoker / no smells or spills. In light of the pending maintenance items, I think this car is appropriate for someone who wants a long-term low cost car that will have the infrequent "older car" repairs but no car payment or someone who is in the auto repair business looking for replacement parts. I prefer to convey the car to a buyer on Dec 1st or 2nd (I travel out of the country on Dec 3rd) but I will respect whatever date the buyer requests to take possession. I have records of service reaching back to the purchase of the car in Germany, including activity during my ownership. My review of my records include the following items (including date / mileage): 12/30/2016 (125,024 miles): Water Pump, Idler Pulley, Belt03/16/2016 (119,713 miles): Starter, Rear Battery02/29/2016 (119,555 miles): Sensors, Front Brake Pads02/19/2015 (115,165 miles): Window Regulator05/30/2013 ( 98,036 miles): Crank Shaft Position Sensor I am 100% focused on completing sale of the car prior to December 3rd. I am available at your convenience to facilitate test-driving and transfer of car and Title. As is custom with the sale of used autos, no warranty explicit or implied conveys with the Title. On Nov-23-18 at 12:38:13 PST, seller added the following information: 11/23/2018: The vehicle passed smog test today: HC Idle Max: 100 / Actual Result: 2HC 2500 RMP Max: 130 / Actual Result: 9 CO Idle Max 1.00 / Actual Result: 0.01CO 2500 RPM Max 1.00 / Actual Result 0.01 REVISED TERMS: For ALL NEW BIDS and BID INCREASES from now until auction ends: You agree to accept possession of the car on Dec 1 or Dec 2.
