A 64 beetle I got it a few years ago I was in the mood to check off some always "wanted to haves" on my list, the gentlemen I bought it from had just got it from Washington state to use it for wedding photos. When it came into my life replaced the battery, wires, plugs, air filter, tires, wheels bearings, front spindles (airkewld), rear lowering arms (atomwerks), and tie rods (airkewld). Then I had a motor built by a local shop that specializes in VW motors. The motor is a 1641cc with a deep sump oil well and external oil filter. Also to make it a little more drive-able I added a electronic ignition with a rev limiter from pertronix. While I was installing the motor I also installed a new pressure plate and clutch. I still have the original spindles ,distributor components, oil air filter, and some other spares. I've only changed out the brake in oil and replaced the oil based on a time table not miles maybe 300 miles since the approximate completion of the aforementioned items. Its a lovely car, original paint and interior. I've only done things to make it more pleasant to drive but have not messed with "nostalgia".
