1962 Nash Metropolitan Relisted with Lower Reserve and Lower Buy it Now Price! Practically stealing this car for this price. Motor runs excellent, car stops and drives great. Has a Datsun 1.3 liter engine and transmission conversion with 4 on the floor shifting. This 1.3L Datsun engine gets 67 horsepower, the 1500 Austin Healey engine that was factory got 52. Everyone who knows about these cars knows that the 3 on the tree transmission was always a challenge to drive. The 4 on the floor coupled with this engine make this a pretty peppy car to drive. The car was extensively restored about 12 years ago and has high quality paint and an excellent interior. When the carpeting and upholstery were being re-done, extensive dynamat and padding were installed on the floors which makes this car much more solid and quiet and lacks the rattling that your standard Metropolitan has. The trim was all replated, the window rubbers were all replaced. All glass was replaced except for the rear window which is in excellent condition as well. The trunk is padded and carpeted and fully detailed. There is no rust on the floor boards or anywhere else on the car that I could find. The car has a new battery and the tread on the white wall tires is excellent all the way around including the spare tire. The Continental kit has a stainless steel ring that is in excellent condition. This car has been used almost exclusively for parades and other public events for many years(hence the ribbons in trunk).The car has accumulated less than 500 miles since its restoration over 12 years ago. The odometer/speedometer assembly was replaced with a restored odometer that was at 0 miles at the time of restoration. The actual mileage of the vehicle is unknown. I do also want to disclaim that the hood color does not match the body. It is close but not a perfect match.
