Vehicle Detail
Believed to be originally purchased and operated by the U.S. Marines, stationed at Camp Pendleton, near Oceanside, Ca., is this 1966 (registered as a '65) Dodge D200 3/4 Ton Longbed Stepside pickup truck. That puts this truck in action during the Vietnam War Era.Truck is boasting great patina, and so it does have some rust on floor/rockers. Still has military plate on dash. Has a Slant 6 with 4BBL Holley carb, cam, newer headers and exhaust system. Has an aluminum radiator with electric fan. Power Steering just added but has small leak. 4 Speed manual gear box. All gauges work. Wheels and Tires are 8-lug off of a late 90's model F-250 with lots of tread. Brakes have been overhauled, front end suspension. 3 leafs removed from front and rear to lower ~2". Has a low gear ratio on rear end (4:10) so freeway speeds are 55-60mph. Runs and drives very well. Has never overheated while I have owned it even when it's been 100deg+ here in SoCal. Could use new bed wood. Happy to answer any questions.Fully registered and insured with clear title in my name.On Sep-03-18 at 19:16:08 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 9/3: I have had a few questions come in on this truck so I wanted to post more detail. The floorboards appear to be solid except for about a 2"x2" section on the passenger side up against trans tunnel. The floors appear original. For the bed, there is a plywood sheet laying across the original steel frame. The original wood is gone but the metal frame appears complete and solid. I did find a small weep coming from the clutch master cylinder today. I should have it by close of auction and will plan to install. If not, it will be available to the new buyer for install. On Sep-07-18 at 16:15:12 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/7: New clutch master cylinder has just been installed. Also, forgot to mention that I have patch panels for the rockers if so desired.
