Vehicle Detail
I I am selling my 1966 Coupe. Priced at $77,500. A 2 ½ year complete body off the frame restoration was completed in 2017. The car has been through NCRS judging to the regional meet level. It scored 98.4 at a very good chapter meet and 98.5 at a regional meet in 2017. This car drives like a new 1966 corvette! It is Nassau blue with Dark blue interior. The drive train is L79/350hp, M21 close ratio Muncie 4 speed, and 3.73 gear ratio. Car build date is July 14, 1966 per the NCRS shipping data report. It is an A.O. Smith bodied car. Everything on the car was restored/rebuilt OEM/original parts or the best available reproduction parts. On a scale of 0 to 10, the body and paint are a 10. The most points I lost at NCRS judging for a single item was 12 points and that was for the paint. As NCRS judges paint, the paint over restored. Everything on the car is part number and date correct. Not every part on the car originally came with the car, but everything with a number is an original corvette part with correct part/casting numbers and dates. The only exception is the radiator and overflow tank which are numbers correct, but correct DeWitt reproductions. Note: car is pictures with reproduction bolt-on knockoff wheels and goldline tires. The price of $77,500 includes these wheels and tires. I will sell the car for $75,000 and replace this tire/wheel combo with a set of new narrow whitewall radials and 1966 corvette hubcaps. The hubcaps are restored and probably look better than when new. Front to back, some of what was done to the car includes: · OEM Bumpers – rechromed · NOS Grille · Headlight motors – Original, date and part number correct, and rebuilt · Horns – Original, date and part number correct and restored · Horn Relay – NOS Original · Radiator – Correct DeWitt restoration reproduction radiator · Overflow tank – Correct DeWitt restoration · Fan Clutch – Original, restored/rebuilt · Water pump – Original, rebuilt GM 3859326 · Alternator – Original OEM, #110693, Date 6D14 (April 14, 1966), and restored (diodes stamped with correct numbers) · Voltage Regulator, Original OEM, #1119515, Date 6E (May 1966) · Carburetor – Original, List 3367, Date 644 (1966, April, 4th week), restored/rebuilt · Distributor – Original, Restored/Rebuilt (correct reproduction band 111156 dated 6 F 2) · Windshield Wiper Motor – Original OEM 5044602 · Starter – Original restored GM 1107320 (date correct) · Starter solenoid – Original restored GM 1114356 with correct Bakelite end cap. · Intake – Original GM 3890490, cosmetic restoration · Valve Covers – Original - cosmetic restoration · Steering Gear Box – Original rebuilt · Transmission – Original rebuilt with parts from D&L Transmission. All numbers and dates correct · Differential – Original stamped AM for 3.36 gears but I installed new 3.73 gears during the rebuild. Included NOS posi case and clutches. · Trailing Arms – OEM rebuilt · Brakes – all new brake lines and restored/rebuilt correct calipers. · Fuel – all new fuel line. Correct VERY HARD TO FIND fuel pump part # 6440083. Original OEM fuel sending unit rebuilt/restored. · New correct fuel tank · NOS door sills · NOS rocker moldings · NOS rear parking brake cable · OEM upper A-arms - Very slightly used upper A-arms with original riveted upper ball joints. · OEM lower A-arms - restored with new MOOG ball joints, riveted not bolted on · OEM steering shock - Correct numbers and date, rebuilt/restored by Dan Patch · Original heater box – disassembled and rebuilt/restored with all new flapper foam. · Engine – The engine is the only thing that I did not rebuilt. A previous owner had it rebuilt. We did pull the heads and had the heads rebuilt and verified the previous engine rebuild. I.e. pistons were correct domed (0.30 over bore) and verified cam lift per L79 specs. Removed the pan and replaced the oil pump with a correct pressure pump. The previous rebuilder had installed a high volume/high pressure pump. Also pulled, inspected and measured main bearings and rod bearing to verify rebuild integrity. I believe the engine is original to the car. The engine pad has passed with no questions at both an NCRS chapter meet and regional meet. · Clock – Original restored · Radio – Original restored · Interior – All new Al Knoch interior, including; dash pads, door panels, carpet, arm rest, seat covers, foam, etc. The seats were covered by Al Knoch technician. · Antenna – Original 65/66 power antenna from Greg Thompson. · Jack and lug wrench – Original restored · Spare tire lock – Original If you have questions, please give me a call at 703-626-6700.
