Vehicle Detail

This 1938 Zundapp K500 is a nice example and its here in the USA. Not one part on the motorcycle is garbage from Poland or Russia. All parts were purchased from Mike Aichner in Germany and all work was done by German WW2 motorcycle guru Mike Dunn. Lets talk about the motor and transmission now. The motor and transmission still run and the transmission shifts great. We have never taken the motor apart since we acquired the motorcycle about 2 years ago from a museum which closed down in IN. All parts that have been used are quality German made parts from Aichner. The motorcycle has the original motor number on it still and matching cylinders. The number on the transmission is also matching to the frame and motor, This is a triple matching number motorcycle. The carb is the original Bing carb as well and works great. We have rebuilt this carb about 2 years ago. The generator was rebuilt and charges perfectly. The transmission shifts perfect and stays in all the gears when being used. We have replaced the front brake hub with new brakes as well as the rear. The paint is not original and this camp paint job is how it came when we acquired it. The tires are new and Heidenau K34 brand tires. All of the rubber on the motorcycle was replaced a few years ago. I have been the mechanic for it for a few years now and its been on display for most of its life with little use. It has been started and driven monthly. If you want to own a real WW2 German motorcycle than this is a nice 500cc motorcycle and good item to add to your collection.
