1997 Porsche 993 C2 71709 Miles VIN WP0AA2999VS321108 For sale is this fabulous “last of the air-cooled” beauties in Polar Arctic Silver and Classic grey leather The vehicle was purchased and operated by a doctor in Houston Texas from new until I purchased it in September 2004. The car remained in Los Angeles CA until June 2009 when it was placed in storage in Canada for three years. The car is equipped with the original 3.6L Varioram engine and six speed transmission. It has Classic Grey leather seats, which have just been totally rebuilt and upholstered in the original OEM leather and materials. The car carries hollow turbo-twist original wheels, a fully operational sunroof and still has the functional originally equipped stereo. When I purchased the vehicle it had a flawless Carfax report which I will include and it has never been involved in any accident or problem since. During its time in LA, the vehicle was meticulously maintained and upgraded by Callas Rennsport in Torrance CA. In Ottawa it has been maintained by Autobahn Tuning. Notable upgrades have been the complete suspension replacement with Carnewal's Eurosport package which includes ROW M030 shocks, springs, stabilizer bars and bushings together with front end scrape bar. This lowers the vehicle and significantly improves its handling. Also swapped was the original cumbersome dual-mass flywheel and clutch assembly for an RS unit. Aluminum trim rings were installed on all dash gauges and windows have been tinted. At 63006 miles the vehicle had a complete top end and partial bottom end rebuild as a result of the SAI problem. This vehicle has never been raced (even track days) nor ever seen the snow. Winters in Canada have been in heated, humidity controlled storage. I have documented maintenance and repair history since new together with the original handbooks and literature in their leather jacket, original tool kit, air pump. It is currently shod with Michelin Sport 2s with about 200 miles on them. This is my third Porsche having owned a '68, an '82 and now this fabulous '97. It has proven to be and always will be the epitome of driving for me and the only reason I am forced to part with it is to fund the accommodation of my wife in a long term health care facility. Moreover the focus on my spouse has prevented me from putting more that 200 miles on the car in the past three years. It has gone from storage to my mechanic, to my driveway and back to storage every year. There are some minor blemishes here and there as you would expect with any vehicle of this age but if you are looking for a top notch example of the best the factory ever got with their air-cooled engines, in a non-turbo affordable package, this is it.
