Vehicle Detail
This attractive 1939 Packard was purchased in Denver, Colorado in the late 1970’s. At that time, the exterior paint had been recently applied, and the interior upholstery had been recently replaced. The inline-eight-cylinder engine had been recently rebuilt. Since then it has lived in a garage. The car was driven occasionally for the first ten years of ownership. The car had then been garaged, and was not driven until removal from storage in 2015. At that time, the car received a thorough exterior and interior cleaning, an aftermarket engine coolant radiator, rebuilt original brake cylinders, front brake flex-lines, new fluids (all), and a new set of Coker white-wall tires. The engine starts well, and runs smoothly, while providing ample power for comfortable touring. The transmission overdrive allows the car to be driven at current highway speeds. The chassis and body show little indication of rust, see pictures for detail. This Packard is in need of exhaust system replacement, heater core replacement, and replacement of the passenger-side windshield, which has a vertical crack. This car also has a tenancy to run on the hot side and prefers the Fall to Spring driving seasons. More pictures and audio recordings of a Start and Running Conditions available upon request.
