Vehicle Detail

1952 AJS Model 18S 500cc motorcycle. All mechanical items have been gone through and restored, engine has only run less than 10 minutes because I didn't want to discolor the exhaust. Corvette Tuxedo Black base coat/clear coat paint. Gas tank has been cleaned and sealed internally, just put in 20/50 Castrol and should be ready to start. Wheels have been updated with new rims and stainless steel spokes. Tires are new Dunlop gold seal K70s including new tubes. Original exhaust system has been stripped and re-plated along with handlebars, side cases, and other trim parts. Alternator, magneto, voltage regulator, lights, horn all work. A 6 volt gel battery has been put in the Lucas battery box. Restoration is 4 years old and has been stored in a climate controlled environment. This motorcycle was featured in "The Motor Market" magazine of Sioux Falls, SD. (Apr 24, 2014). We have a clear So.Dak title along with many receipts and registration history. There are functioning center and side stands on the bike. For those who are not familiar with the AJS motorcycles, they were made by the A.J. Stevens Company. They produced motorcycles for 20 years between 1910 and 1930. The company was then sold and the bikes were produced under the Matchless name for another 40 years or so.
