Vehicle Detail
This truck has been owned by 3 shops, pretty much it’s whole life. It came from the San Francisco - Bay Area and started off as Rick Long's slightly used, transmission shop truck - back in 1976. From 1976 to 1988 it was driven all over the bay area, picking up and delivering transmissions for the shop Volkstrans . Somewhere around 1989 it was sold to Greg Holland of Salem Oregon. Greg's shop, Wagenwerks was the best local place to get air-cooled repairs for 30 years, or so. Now recently Greg sold it to me, Nate @ Wagenswest and I have done a few things to it, like lift it and put upgraded discs brake on it. It’s a great truck, lifted with Wagenswest 2.5” lifted spindles and new lifted rear bearing housings. The motor is a 2110cc AJ case with Dellorto 40mm DRLA carbs, has a 6 rib Transmission and Wagenswest big disc brakes, up front. A few other things like the Brazilian military canopy and original dealer maintenance booklet. Rick long tells me that these beauty rings have been on this truck since the 1970's and that back then they were considered rare, are they now ? I don't know. The only minus to the condition of this truck is that is has had the nose clip replaced and the inside under dash area is red, it was done well and just needs a little paint. Thanks for looking. A few other things like the Brazilian military canopy and original dealer maintenance booklet. Rick long tells me that these beauty rings have been on this truck since the 1970's and that back then they were considered rare, are they now ? I don't know. The only minus to the condition of this truck, is that it has had the nose clip replaced. So the inside under dash area is red, though it was done well and just needs a little paint work. The truck is old and used, but in very good condition for its age. I believe the seat covers are original and they show age with a couple small tears ware areas, but they are still hanging tough .
