Vehicle Detail
I am sadly selling my lovely, restored, 1967 VW Bug. I have had a few Volkswagens over the years and this one has far and away been my favorite and my nicest. I am a VW enthusiast and this 1967 is best of best. The Volkswagen Type I, Classic Bug is the one of the best classic cars on the market for the money. They have an interesting history, matched with a design that proved to be so reliable, stylish and good to drive, that the remained largely untouched for half a century. The "peoples car" as people called them, had a few changes throughout the years, going from the weak engines of the 1950s and the more plastic, super beetles of the 1970s. The engines slowly got better, faster and more reliable, before the smog impact would starve the engines in the late 60s and 70s. Among those in the classic car community, one year stood on its own and is widely regarded as the best of the Bug. That year is the 1967 VW Bug. There are many reasons, from the low-back, fold forward seats the painted metal dash, to the stylish bumpers before the "impact bumpers" of the 70s, but almost mostly due to the 1500, single port, 12v engine. This engine provided more power and more reliability than the others. The engine was actually designed for the heavier type II, Bus. There are other small reasons, but together they single out the 1967 as the best. This is a true, California, clean Bug. It has had thousands and thousands invested and is truly a beauty. The most of the work was done at a local, northern CA, VW performance shop. Including the engine, transmission and clutch are practically brand new. They were rebuilt at the end of 2017, with new wiring installed as well. The paint shine is incredible and the chrome is in great shape, with rubber and trim replaced, only using the high end materials and options. The "D" emblem is authentic, and stands for "Deutschland" as this car was a Built in Germany car, not one of the Mexico units. Everything works, from gas gauge, seats, lights, horns, stereo, you name it. The car starts on the turn of the key and gets thumbs up at car shows or gas stations. The auction is NO RESERVE, so best of luck. It is believed to be only 50,000 original miles with numbers matching engine. Please do all inspections prior to bidding and the sale is as-is, with no warranty, expressed or implied. I wish I didn't have to sell, it is a California clean title. Thanks for looking and Happy Fathers Day! On Jun-11-18 at 12:12:06 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE:For any zero or low feedback bidders ( <10), please contact me before bidding just to be sure I can answer any questions and make sure you are familiar with the process. Thank you to those who already have! It is great to meet you and show you the car! On Jun-13-18 at 09:11:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to update everyone. The current high bidder came and saw the car last night and loved it. We went through paperwork and the engine and when the engine was rebuilt at the Volkswagen Performance shop they converted to a high flow dual port intake and heads. The dual give a higher top speed, and give the engine a more top end power. Thanks to those who have come and seen the car, like I told everyone, I am not taking a Buy-it-Now price, this a no reserve auction, so please bid what you are willing to pay. On Jun-13-18 at 16:14:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, I have had some questions. Yes, I will include the original 1967 bumper in the sale if you would like.
