You are viewing an original Ford-built 2000 Ford Ranger-EV Electric truck. Only about 1700 of these were made - only a few are left on the road today. I've had this truck since 2006 and it's been a great vehicle. Unfortunately, now the traction battery has finally died. I'm retired and don't have the skills or budget to convert it to lithium. Many resources exist online to help in the conversion process. This truck ran perfectly until finally one or more of the NiMH cells got below the voltage level that the truck's computer will recognize. Once that happens, the truck's system computer will no longer charge any of the cells. The truck is in nice condition with only a few small body dings and one long dent on the passenger side rear door post. This is shown in the photos. Interior is in nice condition with only a small bit of wear on the driver's seat - again, shown in the photos. Truck has the original tires with lots of tread left, however the tires are weather cracked a bit. Includes a bed-mounted spare on a matching alloy wheel. Included in the sale are 2 Avcon conductive chargers. These are 220v units. Both are 2-channel chargers but have only one paddle. One charger works on 'A' channel (and assume 'B' channel also works), the other charger is dead on the 'A' channel but can be changed over to the 'B' channel for functional operation. Also included is an adaptor so you can charge on the now-current SAE J1772 charging stations. Also included is a brand new NGS Star Tester with the correct card for the NiMH Ranger-EV. This tester will diagnose all parts of the electronics and battery systems on the Ranger-EV and is valuable if you are planning to repair or rebuild this truck. The tester alone is worth $1500 and includes all manuals and cables. Additionally I have the complete shop manual, schematics, owner's manual and other Ranger-EV documentation on CD that will ship with the vehicle. I'm sorry to see this truck go but since I can't afford to repair it, it needs a new home! Please send any questions through the e-bay message system. Truck is located in Kansas City area.
