Vehicle Detail

Rallye 2016 Honda Africa Twin DCT (CRF1000D) I built this bike to tackle the Backcountry Discover Routes. I rode this bike on the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route (IDBDR) last fall. It was awesome! While everyone else was struggling to find the right gear on the technical parts and steep hill climbs, I was just cruising along changing gears with the handlebar mounted paddles. While guys struggled with the relentless rock gardens on the mountain summits, I just let the Touratech Extreme suspension soak it up. This bike is an off-road beast! One of the main complaints with the Africa Twin is the super soft suspension that easily bottoms out off-road. I weigh right over 200 pounds (215 in riding gear). I wanted the bike to be able to handle week or longer trips with gear on the gnarliest terrain out there. I paid over $3600 to buy Touratech front cartridge suspension and rear shock system. The suspension is fully adjustable for rebound and compression. My KTM friends say it is as good as their KTM suspensions. I have over $18,000 in the bike. This is the one of the most capable Africa Twins in the world. It can tackle anything from a local dual sport ride to a round the world trip. It is prepped for Touratech Zega or Zega Pro panniers (not included). Here is a list of all the goodies: Touratech Extreme fork cartidge conversion 1,795.00 Touratech Extreme rear shock 1,795.00 Touratech pannier mounting kit 399.00 Touratech lower crash bars 179.95 Touratech upper crash bars 299.95 Touratech Rallye Form skid plate 379.95 Touratech rear brake reservoir guard 36.95 Touratech headlight guard 119.95 Touratech sidestand foot 49.95 Honda OEM heated grips 257.89 Honda OEM 12V accessory outlet 62.90 Honda OEM center stand 199.95 Black Dog Cycle Works platform pegs 260.99 Kaoko throttle lock (Revzilla) 99.95 Barkbusters Storm tapered handguards (Revzilla) 141.90 Heidenau Scout Rear Tire (150/70-18) 200.00 Continental TKC-80 Front Tire (90/90-21) 73.00 I have all of the manuals, keys, original parts, and digital shop manual for the bike. They are included with the bike. I have a clear title in hand. The bike has a little over 5,000 miles on it. I have personally maintained the bike according to the shop manual with all OEM Honda parts and fluids. I am selling the bike because my wife wants to do some gravel travel with me. We need a bigger bike with cruise control. Riding two up, we’re not going to be doing the more technical stuff that this bike was built to do. I really hate selling this bike, but I am happy that my wife wants to ride with me. My huge loss could be your huge gain! This bike has better suspension than the new Honda Africa Twin Sport. You can buy a motorcycle that is more off-road capable than a BMW R1200GS Adventure for almost half the price. I know. I’ve owned them both.
