1974 standard beetle, engine runs well with typical oil leaks ( previous seller said engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2013?) but transmission pops out of gear and grinds in reverse. Car drives straight and brakes appear to be good. Rear floor pan area has rust but a pan has been installed over the rusted area and below the battery. Headliner has tears below and beside the rear window, front seats are in very good condition, rear seats have a cover over them and the springs in the seat appear to be weak. Tires show even wear but should be replaced. Dishonest seller sold the car to me as completely restored, car is not. Car does have recent running board install and rocker tunnels and heat exchangers appear to be good. Rain gutters have some surface rust and there is minor surface rust on roof,see photo and around passenger door.Selling to try and recoupe some of the money spent to purchase the car. Car may need a steering damper but I’ve only driven it a few miles so not sure. Sold as is, I’d recommend you view the vehicle in person. I have the clear California title as I never registered the car. Roof rack is included. Car was repainted at some point. I’d call the paint job a MAACO special. Spare tire has lots of tread and looks good, defrost is not connected. Last photo is the original listing from the prior owner indicating he sold it to me fully restored. Reserve is well below the $6,000 indicated in his listing photo. Prior listing did not meet the reserve so re-listed at a lower reserve.
