Vehicle Detail
1993 Mazda Rx7. Clean car inside and out. Repainted 3 years ago, also coming off a newly built 6.2L making 472hp/443tq, and a 6speed Tremec T56 Magnum behind it. The car currently has 3,521miles on the new build and 77,866miles on the body. I’ve owned the car since 2012, from which its gone through a total transformation. Car was repainted Dec 2014 at Floyd’s Auto Body Shop in Newport, NC. The rotary engine was removed in favor of an Iron block LQ4 based LS. Engine was built by me personally using all top of the line quality parts such as Wiseco Forged pistons, Scat I-Beam Forged Rods, ARP fasteners, Fel-Pro PermaTorque to name a few. Currently sits at 11.7:1 static compression and runs great on 93 octane. All engine balancing and machine work was done by Edge Brothers in Jacksonville, NC. I documented all necessary engine clearances and photograph evidence throughout the build process. Car is perfect to add your own Nitrous kit, or leave it as is and enjoy it. An AEM water /methanol kit is installed in the vehicle but has not been used. Currently wired in for a boosted application, and i also have a brand-new harness to go along if the new owner would like to use it in N/A form. Brand New Tremec T56 Magnum Transmission Wide ratio rated at 750ftlbs and a Mcleod RXT Twin Disc Clutch/Steel Flywheel rate at 1000hp are mated to the engine. Very smooth shifting and easy to drive on the street considering its capabilities. Will allow the new owner to ability to further push the car to new limits. During the build process, rerouting and tuck of the main engine bay harness was done to clean up the visual look and simplify the presence under the hood. The engine is powered by MSD’s Atomic LS EFI. Most are unfamiliar with this system surprisingly. Its 100% self-tuning ECU. You simply dial in your target A/F ratio you want at idle/part/WOT the ECU does the rest. Also gives you the ability to adjust timing +-10 off the base tune. It is nitrous and boost compatible and is good to tune for up to 1000hp which is limited base on the size of the fuel rails. The care speaks for itself. Its a real head turner and i get a lot of compliments anytime i take it out. Only reason I’m selling the car is for space in my garage to start work on a new project or i would be keeping it. Has not been using yet; do to still finishing wiring. Should easily help push the car past 500hp to the wheel and add some protection during track days. I will have everything completely installed before the sale of the vehicle. Pump is installed in the passenger side rear bin Wheel setup is Enkei RFP1, wrapped in Federal S595 245/45/17 front, 275/40/17 rear. No rubbing or clearance issues. Interior I would rate it an 7/10. Does have sign of wear, typical of a 93. Leather is worn on driver side, and near perfect on passenger side. Plastic on doors and center does have some scratches but nothing crazy or broken, just normal wear from use. What makes the interior is the gauge cluster and steering wheel. Cluster is a White Face from a JDM 2002 RZ model and was swapped in during the engine install. A Dakota Digital Speedo and Tach converter boxes are installed to calibrate the original KM to MPH. Steering wheel was installed to update the interior and give it a more modern look from 2000 newer Mazda. Battery was relocated to the driver side rear bin. Using XSpower 2gal wiring and XSpower S1200 battery and hold down. Currently there is a AEM A/F and Boost Gauge installed center dash. Not required, but I will leave them installed for the new owner to use or remove them. CONS: Intake manifold currently rubs on the underside of the hood slightly near the throttle body side of the intake. Does cause a slight impression into the hood. Also the hood in spaced out at the hinges to clear the 102 intake as much as possible. Never bothered me enough to change out the hood for an aftermarket one, I enjoy the factory look. Due to the wire tuck, the fuse boxes are located under the driver side headlight. So if you ever blow a fuse you’ll need to remove the headlight housing to change a main fuse…..this has not happened to me yet, but something to think about. One small dime size area near the rear hatch seal where the paint is bubbled. Can be fixed for a few hundred at an auto body shop.
