Vehicle Detail

1982 Buick Riviera Convertible, GM factory conversion with only 24,000 original miles. I purchased this car with 18,500 miles three years ago. It is in pristine original condition with some preventative maintenance and parts replacement as indicated. Original paint, original interior, original top and boot and drive train in near show room condition. The leather is perfect and the Moroccan red leather was only used in 1982. The original top is in excellent condition with no tears or mars, the dash top is perfect as are the door panels with no wear apparent anywhere in the interior. The color is Buick white and is original, 9 out of 10. The chrome is excellent and everything works properly. The car was recently tuned and serviced, the Quadrajet carburetor has been rebuilt, it has a new AC compressor, new belts and hoses (still have the originals). For safety reasons, I replaced the front pads with modern material and, of course it has new tires. The car came with perfect looking original Uniroyals, but I did not deem it safe to use them at high speed. The muffler was replaced as were the front shocks, fuel pump and air injectors. The battery is brand new and I just replaced the master cylinder with a new unit. This car needs absolutely nothing, just a great caretaker and a garage. It was recently featured in the February 2018 Buick Bugle club magazine. It drives perfectly, a great highway car with the 307 CI (5.0) V8. It was recently awarded the AACA Historical Preservation award for originality. In 1982, total Riviera convertible production was 1248 with 898 in white and 350 in red, 1141 of them with the 307 V8. The Riviera convertible was the most expensive GM car made and this one, loaded with everything including memory seats, stickered at $26,388 which is equivalent to $68,086 in 2018 money. Absolutely no rust, very clean underneath and a detailed engine compartment, this car was first used by GM management before it was sold to its first owner in Colorado. It was rarely used, went to auction and I purchased it from the classic car dealer who won the auction. “This car began life as a hardtop in the Linden, New Jersey assembly plant and then was sent to American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) in Lansing, Michigan. Here they would have the top removed, the structure strengthened and the final assembly of the convertible top mechanism, rear seat and interior appointments. It should be noted that the rear seat assembly is unique to the convertible alone and will not interchange with the hardtop. After completion at ASC it was off to the Dealer or Buick Zone Warehouse and Distribution Center in Flint, Michigan. “A lot of these cars were driven by GM Executives, Zone Managers and other Officials within all ranks of GM. It was not uncommon to have 'Higher Ups' from Cadillac tooling around in a Buick Convertible as their division had been neutered of Convertibles a few years back. Cadillac liked this car so much that they got their own version in the form of the 1984 and 1985 Cadillac Eldorado.” (http://www.buickrivieraconvertible.com). There are several of these available, very few with original mileage as low as this. My agreed upon value with my insurance company is $20,000. If you seek near perfection, look at this fine example. It is available for inspection and drive test in Las Vegas, Nevada. This car was recently completely and professionally detailed. It has a clear California title in my name and passed California smog last year with no effort. I can be reached at 702 400-3749 to answer any questions.
