I believe it was a 3 owner car prior to my ownership this fall, originating as a Florida car and remaining as such until 5 or 6 years ago, at which point it changed hands and was used as a summer car in PA. I purchased the car from the family of the last owner who recently passed away. I would love to keep it, but I am getting rid of numerous cars in my collection. I have driven it several hundred miles, and it is an absolute dream to drive. I do not believe the car EVER saw any salt/snow. The undercarriage is about as clean as they come, other than the fact it is driven and therefore undercarriage has never been detailed. It has the very rare factory towing package code (V4P), and there is no sign that it ever towed anything, as there is no evidence of ever having a hitch mounted to the car. Among other things, the trailering package includes various heavy duty items, such as cooling, suspension, and brakes as well as 3.42 rear axle which gives it even more get-up-and-go with the already powerful and highly desired factory LT-1 “Corvette” engine. It is also equipped with heated seats, memory seat on driver’s side, automatic dimming mirrors, front and rear vanity mirrors, AM/FM Stereo & CD player with factory amp, and full-size spare, among other things. I have no doubt this one should prove to be an excellent automobile for the next owner. Please note most of the pictures were taken in mid-October. I can assure you nothing has changed regarding the condition of the car since the pictures were taken, other than a brand new AC Delco power antenna was professionally installed in January. Exterior: The paint is very striking, almost like a platinum color, called Marblehead Gray Metallic….very pretty. It is superb. It has no signs of any major accidents, but only upon very close inspection, it appears that the driver’s side doors and front fender have been resprayed…..however it is very hard to tell, and it was done very professionally. No paint runs, no orange peel. It looks as good as the factory in my opinion. The only reason I could tell is when I detailed the car, I found a tiny bit of overspray on the top rubber on the doors (which could easily be scraped off), and same with front fender near lower chrome molding where I could tell it was taped off in a very tiny area. The panels fit as they should and no bondo is present. The work was done very well and was likely a minor incident that triggered the need for any work, in my opinion. Most people would never know this area was ever re-touched. The chrome and bright-work still shine brightly, although the chrome on the lower portion of the passenger front door has some very minor pitting…very hard to see except upon very close inspection...I assume this piece was replaced at one point, as the rest of the chrome moldings on the car are almost perfect. Chrome on bumpers are excellent too. No significant scratches to speak of, other than a few small scratches on top of the left rear fender, immediately to the left of the trunk opening. Again, no significant dings to speak of, although there is a small impression on the lower right rear chrome molding trim behind the wheel….it is hard to see but is nonetheless present. I believe this trim piece could be corrected without replacement. There is another small ding on the left rear fender that could be easily corrected with paintless dent removal. The plastic chrome-finished upper body side moldings are still presentable….these cars typically have issues with the plating separating from the plastic molding itself. The most notable area is the very front driver side where a small portion has peeled a little, and elsewhere there are a few minor air pockets here and there, but overall they are still nice. Vinyl top and rubber window sweeps are in good shape, but with some discoloration from the Florida sun. The use of Armor-All improves the appearance. The aluminum wheels look incredible, unlike many of these cars. No road rash, and only some very small marks from wheel weights. No oxidation or streaks from harsh chemicals anywhere. The undercarriage is truly amazing, certainly never saw salt/snow. The car was never driven in PA winters according to the prior owner, and the condition proves it. No rust under the trunk lid or under doors either. Overall, the exterior is beautiful and in very good condition. Judging by the condition of both the interior and exterior, I believe it was probably garage kept most of its life. Interior: Just like the exterior, the interior is beautiful too, having the ultra-luxurious “Brougham” seats, which is an upgrade from the base Fleetwood. The car stills smells like new. No evidence of ever having been smoked in. The leather seats are very comfortable, and still in excellent condition. No stains, rips, or holes. No cracks in any of the plastic dash or panels. Carpets are clean and like new. Even the floor mats have very little wear. Headliner is not saggy and still looks good. The car has many power equipment features, and most everything works fine, but I noticed some smaller issues as follows: -The mirror motor in driver side mirror is inoperable, so you must manually adjust the mirror (I think the motor might be burned out, because I can still hear a slight motor sound, but mirror barely moves, if at all). -Tape deck needs repaired (but AM/FM radio and CD player still work and sound great). -Sometimes when using the windshield wiper washers, the wipers stay running for a little while, so you have to change the setting to “intermittent” for a few moments, and then turn the switch off for the wipers to properly park (the squirters shut off OK though)…so to fix, it will probably need a new wiper control switch ($130 from summit racing). It was not annoying enough for me to replace it. -Driver’s side lumbar makes noise when the switch is engaged but I can’t feel anything move inside the seat. Seat is still very comfortable at current lumbar setting and all other operations of the seat work properly, including the heat. -When using the twilight sentinel, the exterior lights turn on even in daylight, not just in the dark. But instrument panel is plenty bright enough, so it has no negative effect in my opinion; so it works like daytime running lights. There is probably a light sensor of some sort that would correct it. The time delay works as it should. And if you turn off the sentinel then the headlamps turn off as well, so you can also operate the lights manually if you choose. These above items are not significant enough for me to consider fixing them, so the next owner can decide whether or not to rectify these matters. The rest of the power equipment all work very well. Mechanical: The engine is the highly desirable LT-1 engine, which is both very efficient (~25 MPG highway) and powerful. No misses, knocks, etc. Smooth as silk. The transmission shifts like it should, without slippage or hesitation when putting into gear, and has a great kick-down when needed. Tires are still in good shape and have plenty of tread, and ride nice. Ride is smooth without shakes or shimmies. Shocks are nice and tight, along with the steering. Brakes are smooth and safe. Climate control works properly and blows good cold air. The car passed the PA annual safety and emissions inspection and is valid through September 2018. The son-in-law of the prior owner said he had the Opti-spark unit replaced along with plug wires within the last year or so. I believe he said the water pump was also changed at the same time. I had the oil changed back in September, and so there is several hundred miles on the car since then. To my knowledge, the car needs absolutely nothing mechanically.
