2009 Suzuki GS500F – the Quintessential starter bike! A steal at $1,600 (BB is $2000+!) in very good condition; and only ~10,000 miles! I bought this as my first bike from a friend who had done the same and it was great bike to learn the basics – its light, mechanically sound/reliable, and doesn’t have so much power you accidentally kill yourself (It’s the last year of the carbureted 500). Its stance is, I believe, called “Sport Touring” so it has fairings and the general appearance of a sport bike, but the stance is ¾ upright versus the more aggressive tuck. Getting 60-80 mpg is certainly tolerable as well! :)It’s had recent oil and filter change, new gauge lights (Red LED), brand new battery (bought 2/3/2018), chain clean/lube/tension, and otherwise is ready to drive away. I used Stabil or equivalent in every tank of fuel, and winterized it (drained the fuel) at the end of every season. Also comes with a quasi-custom cover in great shape and I'll give you all my "working stock" (e.g. leftover oil, more red LEDs, etc) Honest broker – the bike is a salvage title (I have the title) from its original owner who laid it down, and the cost to repair the scratches, broken fairings, etc. resulted in the insurance company “totaling” it. The owner “bought it back” and bought new parts to fix the damage. Now, you’d be hard pressed to find where the damage was. This is why I list the bike at less than blue book. BUT, don't let that deter you - it rides like new and I've never had any issues registering it, insuring it, etc - just think of it as getting a great deal.Lastly. . . why am I selling it?
