Vehicle Detail
Ok, here we go!! 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe Bel Air "Hard Top Convertible" YES, Chevy's marketing dept referred this car as a hardtop convertible. This was the second year the car was available as a true hard top, second year for the Power Glide transmission. The car started life in Yuma, Colorado. This car is a virtual survivor with one repaint done in 1987. Everything you see is the original unrestored car from 1951!! Never any rust or body repair, the pictures showing the underside speak for themselves. ROCK SOLID!! There are 2 spots that have very small perforated holes in metal supports, absolutely nothing in the frame or the floors that I can see!! The seat covers have been on since near new. The material under those covers are unknown condition. They were put on with metal bulldog clips and I havent attempted a look see. Door panels and headliner are in good shape. There is some minor fraying around the arm rest on the drivers door. Glass is very good EXCEPT there's a crack on the passenger side front glass. Bumpers are nearly excellent, the dealer accessory bumper "wings" were just rechromed front and rear to the tune of $1000.!! The official colors are Aspen Green (Top) and Phantom Green for the bottom. Base price new was $1914.00 Mechanically the car is overall excellent. It starts easily with no smoke or rattles. The Power Glide shifts as it should. The engine is a replacement 1958 235, was converted to 12 volt system. Everything works, the heater and fan, all gauges except the gas gauge. Even the dual backup lights work!! The front end has been extensively rebuilt and a near new set of Michelin wide whites cap off the 50's look! The spare in the trunk is one of the original tires. A new dual exhaust has a nice sound but not too loud. I want everyone to know this: It is NOT a restored car, therefor it is NOT perfect. It's had lots of love and upkeep over the last 67 years but it's not a body off full blown restoration. It really is as close to a survivor as you'll ever find. The fine print: Any questions please call before you bid. 402-650-3849 I'm Tom. This is a reserve auction and the reserve is what I think the car is worth, so bid to own...$25. incremental bids probably won't get the car bought. I will tell you this: The reserve is WELL below $20,000.! The car is being sold in as is condition. Ive done my best to describe this car honestly but if you have questions please give me a call before you bid. The winning bidder will send a $1000. non-refundable deposit via Paypal 48 hours end of auction. The BALANCE to be paid within 7 days with certified bank funds, or bank to bank wire transfer. You can also pay in cash when you pick the car up. Good luck and look forward to answer any questions!! Thanks
