Vehicle Detail
1965 Mustang Deluxe Coupe PS PB ACThis is a no reserve auction and will sell to the highest bidder. Please read the entire ad and view all photos before bidding. PLEASE, only bid if you can meet the payment requirements (see bottom section), I need to have this car sold by February 12, 2018. Thank You. Up for auction 1965 Mustang Deluxe Coupe equipped with most of the options available in 1965: power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, day/night rear view mirror, remote outside mirror, deluxe pony interior, deluxe exterior trim, and deluxe wheel covers. We purchased the car because it was a rust free local car with original black and yellow plates. The car was restored in June of 2016 and was used as our weekend driver. We have driven it only 5350 miles since the restoration. Over 17K has been invested in the car and its restoration. This is a beautiful car and it runs and drives great! I am selling it because, since I retired, we need fewer toys and a lot more money. Here is a list of some of what was done. Body: Body was disassembled and everything painted in original Twilight Turquoise all new rubber seals & weatherstripping installed and then reassembled. New wiring harnesses were installed as well as a new windshield. New: exterior chrome trim, bumpers, door handles and locks. New Pony interior was installed, headliner, seat covers, carpet, kick panels, sun-visors, dash pad, door panels, door handles, window cranks, steering wheel, quarter trim panels and windlace. The stock AM radio was replaced with a Retro-Sound stereo system. Motor: The original 289 was completely rebuilt New: pistons, rings, gaskets, bearings (main, connecting rod, and camshaft), oil pump, timing chain & gears, camshaft & lifters. The cylinder heads were modified for unleaded gas. The 2V manifold and carburetor were replaced with high rise aluminum 4V manifold and Edelbrock carburetor.Exhaust: New 2” dual exhaust system from the manifolds to the back, with turbo mufflers.Cooling system: New: radiator, water pump, hoses, belts, heater core, and antifreeze.Electrical: New: wiring harnesses (one under dash and two under hood), battery, regulator & solenoid . Rebuilt parts: instrument cluster, alternator and starter.Transmission: the transmission was disassembled, cleaned, and inspected, new seals and gaskets installed.Brakes: All four drums were turned, new parts include : front & rear brake shoes, four wheel cylinders, all three brake hoses, power booster & master cylinder.Steering and Suspension: Rebuilt power steering pump and control valve, new parts: upper and lower control arms, tires, shocks and front end alignment. Now for the issues! The car looks great and is rust free & dent free, but if you look close the paint has a few small: nicks, chips, and scratches, as you might expect from being driven everywhere and parked in various parking lots, its been used as fun transportation, not a trailered show car. There is also a dark spot in the paint on the top of the left front fender (see photos) everything in the car works good except the AC. We upgraded the AC to a new modern style compressor and kit in July of this year, it blows ice cold when charged but now has a slow leak somewhere. The heater blower motor is a little noisy, and the drivers bucket seat back has a cat scratch (see photos), my neighbors cat decided the new upholstery was a scratching post. Its not a rip just four rough lines. The original stainless steel trim under the windshield needs to be straightened & polished. Please feel free to ask questions and I will do my best to answer them.Payment requirements: I require a $1000.00 deposit by PayPal within 24 hours of the close of the auction. The balance to be paid in full before the car leaves my possession. Balance can be paid in cash or bank transfer, PayPal is OK but you must pay their fees so I end up with the full amount. All checks including Cashier checks must be cleared by my bank, when I have the cash in my hand you get the car. Once these requirements are met, I will work with your shipper. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!! I am unaware of it ever being in an accident or having any work done before I purchased it. The car is available to be seen Wednesday 1/31- 2/3 call for an appointment 661 375 4941
