Vehicle Detail
Purchase this and own a piece of American Luxury Automotive History! 1979 was the last year of the big Lincolns. This is truly a comfortable road trip car and the seats are like pillows to ride on. This auto is in remarkably good condition for its age and is currently located in Harper, Tx 78631. ***I have a lot more pictures, including the undercarriage, please contact me for a link if you are seriously interested in the car. PLEASE ask questions if you have them before bidding, we will do our best to answer honestly and quickly. Thank you for looking. My father restored antique cars, had this vehicle for almost 20 years and meticulously maintained it, as he did all his cars. He started tinkering with cars as a teen, was a mechanic in the Air Force and maintained more than a dozen antiques at a time, his entire adult life, after service. He did not buy junk, preferred low mileage, original autos and he enjoyed keeping them in top condition. The sale is only due to owner's health. He is a retired Air Force Veteran who has Alzheimer's and sadly, can no longer enjoy his collection. I am selling this car, as I have others, to help pay for his expenses. Purchased from a San Antonio, Texas auto dealer, whom it appears bought it from the original owner who purchased it in Midland, Texas. V8 engine starts right up, drives smooth and has plenty of power to move this land yacht. It was tuned up this fall. It has the comfortable, smooth ride you would expect of a Lincoln Town Car.Well preserved and always garaged in a commercial building since my father owned it. Interior is also in very good condition, as the pictures show. Factory installed CB & 8 Track Stereo. Turns on and sound comes out, but not amplified. Heated drivers mirror with a thermostat. Less than 62k miles which appear to be original by the condition and paperwork I have. I have gas receipts with date and mileage written on them, which was a habit of my father's. Central Texas car with no rust. Original paint is in very good condition for its age, still nice and shiny. Body, frame, and floor are straight and rust free. Fully optioned with power seats, power antenna, power windows, power locks, auto lights, cruise control, etc. Drivers rear window needs an adjustment, as it requires manual assistance to close it the last 1/2 inch or so. Air Conditioning operates but doesn't get cool. Original owners manual included, see picture. Clear Texas Title in owners name. Recent service including tune-up, oil change, new filters, etc.New heavy duty radiator.Recently rebuilt carb. Replaced fuel accelerator & fuel lines. New Battery. While all Lincolns have many options, this one has the upgraded wheels, upgraded 8 track stereo, light delay package, factory CD, heated mirrors and intermittent wipers that they do not all have. Be sure to look for these options when comparing automobiles. This car looks beautiful in person with just my unprofessional cleanup. Chrome is also very nice. What you see is an honest representation of what this car is. I have sold several of his other cars and the buyers are always happy with them. My father has a reputation for taking very good care of his vehicles and restoring autos to original condition. This car really is a solid, beautiful example of the last of America's great luxury cars. The Landau top does have some fading and missing threads (See pics). I highly encourage you to come see this or send someone you trust for an inspection before purchase. I want you to be happy with your purchase and know what you are getting. The Fine Print: Clear Texas title. Selling AS IS, WHERE IS, No Warranty.
