1971 BMW R75/5, VIN 2975810 (all numbers match). Starts on 1st kick (or Electric Start works perfectly). Purchased 9/20/2017. New Autocraft Battery (4/2016). Changed plugs, oil, air filters ($16), added gas filters (non-OEM parts) & cleaned right carb but carbs need more attention: lacks power at lower RPM's (maybe it's because i haven't ridden one of these since the 70's!). Rode 5 miles at 60-70 mph on Expressway 1/11/2018 and started losing power (felt like carbs flooding). Pulled-over for a minute then rode another 18 miles at 60-70 mph without further problem. Horn, Turn-Signals, brake light not working. No Keys. High-Beam only (maybe because no key?). Taillight housing cracked/taped together, lens held by one screw. Headlight Brackets are bent slightly to Left. Odometer looks funky to me: mileage not accurate? Hairline rust/perforations in pipes (see photos). Air Pump under seat includes black end-cap but pump inoperable. Tool Pouch doesn't zip. Pipes slightly rusted/perforated (see photos). Good project or parts bike.
