Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon. It has 79,000 original miles on it and has its numbers matching drivetrain (original 260 cubic inch V-8, TH-350 transmission, and 8.5 inch 10 bolt rear end). There are two pictures showing the stampings on the drivetrain to prove it's numbers matching. The car has new tires, newer brakes (including new brake line from front proportioning valve all the way back to the rear end junction block), and a newer exhaust from the cat-back. The car is not loud at all. It runs quiet and smooth. The car runs and drives very well. Suspension is very smooth as well. The car was just taken off the road. The undercarriage is very clean. There is absolutely no rot on the frame, floor pans, or trunk pan. There is not even a pinhole underneath this car. This car has one of the cleanest undercarriages of any of these type cars that I have seen. I have other classics and this one is the cleanest of them all. The door bottoms and rockers are rock solid. There is minor rust bubbling on the very bottom of the panel directly in front of both rear wheels. The paint has some minor chips and scratches here and there. The interior of the car is also in very good shape. The headliner is nice and tight with no drooping. The dash is perfect with no cracks. The carpet has chaffing on the extreme left of where your left foot goes by the kick panel. It's not a big area though. All of the interior is original. This car is a really nice example of non-hacked up 75 Olds Cutlass Salon. The engine bay is bone stock. No wiring has been altered, all the lights work, and is a really solid 42 year old car. It's perfect for the Oldsmobile guru who wants a numbers matching drivetrain car or someone that just wants a solid car to start with to make it into whatever he/she desires. It's all there for you to do what you want to and it's solid. I do have more pictures that could not fit on eBay. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns if you want to go over more detail about the car if you like. The car will be going for sale locally eventually so I'm reserving the right to end this auction early if the car sells locally. As with any old classic car, there is no warranty of any kind provided with the sale of the car and the car doesn't leave its location without cash in hand or a certified bank check that has cleared my bank account. The car has clean paperwork for it out of Connecticut. Shipping or picking up the car is on the buyer. I can assist the shipper with loading the car if it sells though. On Nov-11-17 at 15:54:07 PST, seller added the following information: If you have zero feedback please message me to contact me if you are serious about buying the car. I've had a zero feedback buyer before and it was a scammer and I won't go down that road again. If you have zero feedback and you do not contact me, I will cancel your bid on the car. I'm sorry, but unfortunately there are too many scammers out there. On Nov-15-17 at 05:58:14 PST, seller added the following information: As of 11/15/17, I have had 2 bidders place bids on the car with zero feedback and did not contact me. I cancelled their bids because of this. As I stated previously, please message me to contact me if you have zero feedback and want to bid on the car so we can try and determine if you are a scammer or not. If you do not message me to contact me and have zero feedback, I have to assume that you are a scammer. Also, I've been getting questions regarding if the car is perfect. The car is not perfect. If the car were perfect, I would be asking a perfection price. For example, the AC belt squeals when the AC is turned on. The AC compressor cycles on, but I believe the belt is slipping, causing the squeal. The car may need a vacuum hose here or there under the hood because when the blower is on, the car has trouble selecting where you want the air to blow from. The car runs and drives well but please keep in mind the car is in mostly original condition. It is a 42 year old 1975 Cutlass Salon that is very, very solid and very hard to find one of these cars this solid. Also, this is a Cutlass Salon, not a Cutlass Supreme. There were far fewer Cutlass Salons produced than regular Cutlass Supremes. The only rust issues on the car is some bubbling on a few small areas on a few panels very low on the panel. What you are bidding on is a very solid Cutlass Salon that is in mostly original condition that is all there and was just taken off the road about a week ago. It has new tires, newer brakes, newer cat-back exhaust, new brake line. It would have no problems passing any state inspection. This is a running, driving vehicle. I live right at the New York/Connecticut border. The car is from Connecticut. Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles over 20 years old. Instead, when vehicle ownership is transferred, they give you a Q-1 Certificate (Supplemental Assignment of Ownership), and the registration certificate, which I have both. You take those 2 documents and fill out your state's DMV papers and that's it. I've bought several vehicles from Connecticut, that's just their state's process. You can verify this by checking their website if you like.
