Vehicle Detail
2012 Honda Fit Base Up for auction is a 2012 Honda Fit 5-door hatchback (the “Base” model) with a little over 66,000 miles on it. This car belonged to my mother, who drove it around southern California for the past 3 years or so. I’m selling it because she recently passed away and it needs to be sold to settle her estate. The vehicle will come with:Honda Owner’s Manual (original)Honda Technology Reference Guide (original)Honda Warranties booklet (original)Honda Service History booklet (original)Honda Limited Warranty, Tire Care and Maintenance Guide (original)Honda Anti-Theft Radio Identification Card (original)Wheel Lock Installation (and wheel lock)various repair records that she kept The vehicle always started on the first turn of the key and never once stranded her. Since I’ve driven it (about 600 miles or so, the bulk of which were from Southern California to Northern California), I’ve gotten about 35 miles/gallon. The vehicle was basic “grandma” transportation for the past few years. It was a great car for her and she really did drive it like a grandma. (She was NOT the little old lady from Pasadena!) There are numerous other 2012 Honda Fit Base models out there for sale on venues like AutoTrader and craigslist. However, check them out and you’ll see that most of them are for sale with asking prices in the $12,000 range and up, particularly for vehicles with less than 75,000 miles and in condition as nice as this one. Title: The vehicle has a clear title in my name. And don’t ask how many times I had to go to the California DMV to make THAT happen! OK – it took SEVEN trips to the DMV to get the title transferred from her name to mine (because she was deceased). My suggestion to you if you are ever in a situation where a close relative is dying: before they pass away, take 3 minutes to have them sign over the title of their vehicle(s) to an heir or estate trustee or will executor or someone you trust to distribute the funds from the sale of the vehicle. If not, you will spend at least 100 times more time to change the name on the vehicle title. The paint nicks are primarily on the front and rear bumpers. The roof is essentially unmarked. The wheel covers are in pretty good shape. The windows are in great condition with no obvious chips. Interior:The interior fabric is in very good condition. There are no rips, tears, or stains. The headliner is also in very good condition and the dashboard has no cracks. The interior plastic and carpet are both in very good condition. The car also comes with the Honda OEM rubber mat for extra protection in the hatchback area. What’s wrong:Nothing that she ever mentioned or that I have found in my driving of the vehicle from Southern California to Northern California. The engine service light has not come on since I’ve driven it about 600 miles since taking use of the vehicle. Bidding:There is no minimum bid but the car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. As a reminder: your bid is a legally binding contract to purchase the vehicle, it is NOT an offer to view or test-drive the vehicle. If you are the winning bidder, you will be expected to complete the transaction by sending me the funds indicated in your bid BEFORE taking possession of the vehicle. Bidders with zero or negative feedback must contact me through eBay or I will remove your bid. Payment: Within 48 hours of the end of the auction, $500 paid via PayPal or in cash is required of the winning bidder; full payment and pickup is required within 5 days of end of auction or I will re-list the vehicle and leave negative feedback. Full and final payment is due via PayPal or cash, in either case, prior to leaving with the vehicle. Vehicle is sold as-is and with no warranty expressed or implied. Any subsequent repairs are solely the responsibility of the buyer. Any bidder may have the vehicle checked by a mechanic of their choosing at their own expense PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION. Shipping: The vehicle is located in Pleasanton, California, and is available for free pickup at the vehicle’s location. I will not pay to ship the vehicle but will work with the winning bidder’s shipper in case that is necessary. Good luck and thanks for bidding!
