Bought it 2 years ago with just 60,000 miles and used it mostly for commute between Houston and Dallas. My wife has been moved to Dallas and I drove it there every weekend. Everything works like a dream, engine and transmission - strong and smooth - I flushed the transmission when I bought it. The car has a new battery, Michelin tires have 75% thread, sticker good till next summer - savings! Bought it from AutoNation for 13,995 cash where they told me the previous owner was an elderly lady from Beaumont. She just traded it in and I snatched the low mile beauty the same day. My understanding is that she has replaced the timing belt and water pump - savings. Extremely reliable SUV, soft suspension,mahogany wood grain, leather seats have no cracks - in almost new condition. The only defects the car currently has - small crack in windshield barely visible, no remote key, tire pressure sensor is off on one tire and stays lit, and a rain visor missing on one side (costs $10 on ebay). As a toyota enthusiast, I did my research and know that 1994-1997 was the best year for Highlander before electrical and computer problems emerged in 1998-2000s. Remember, its a HIGHLANDER - an SUV that was designed to climb mountains and work in extreme conditions like Sahara desert. This is a truly break-me-if- you-can vehicle that has lots and lots of life in it. The only reason for selling is that my family is growing and we are upgrading to a Sequoia. Priced to sell fast.
