Vehicle Detail
1976 Jaguar XJ-S with only 43,200 miles. 5.3L V12 with Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic transmission. Rust free. This is a survivor, one of the first ~800 XJ-S ever made that still has the two wire Lucas OPUS ignition system. Production of the XJ-S began in September 1975, this car has a build date of 11/75, so a rare first year production model.Rebuilt the injector harness with 16AWG GXL automotive wire and wire harness wrap/clips to protect from heat between the cylinder banks and replaced six of the injectors and a new Crane amplifier. New fuel pump and filter and replaced all injector hoses on engine. Fuel pressure = 36 psi. Installed new water pump and aluminum three core radiator. New distributor cap and wires. Has platinum plugs. Car starts easily and runs fine at normal operation temperature and will push you back in your seat as it winds through 2nd and 3rd. All gauges work except for tach. Replaced automatic transmission mount. Replaced upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and outer front wheel bearings. Redid headliner and installed white vinyl seats. New Coventry hypersilver Whitney 17” rims and Uniroyal tires. Have the original tan front seats and alloy wheels if interested. Also have the old radiator and Lucas fuel pump (worked but leaked). What this car needs is new paint. Paint is original and cracked or pitted on upper surfaces. Hood is covered with black carbon fiber. Needs new floor mats. Hood will shut and latch. Happy to answer questions. Thanks for looking.
