Vehicle Detail

1958 Dodge W300M 1 Ton Power Wagon 2 door Pickup 4x4, 6-cyl. 230cid/113hp. I’ve had this truck for about 12 years now and I just don’t have the time or resources to keep working on it. This is a great candidate for restoration. Or, with a little work, could be a solid truck for the ranch. Body: There are small spots of rust through on the side-mounted cowl lights – rust on the light pedestal and also on the cab side. This is a common location for rust. Other than that, the body is solid – no rust other than a little surface rust here and there where the paint has scratched or rubbed through. It has its share of dents – especially on the bed but nothing that couldn’t be repaired with a little skill and patience. The left side door is missing the glass. The rest of the glass is cracked. There are no inside door latches or window knobs. The dash and headboards have some creative cutting to accommodate aftermarket instruments. I have a replacement dashboard which will be included. There is no headliner or floor mats. The floor pans are solid – again, no rust though. One electric wiper with 12 volt motor. I have a 2nd wiper motor that is 6 volt. I also still have the original vacuum wiper motor. Left side spot light. Turn signal switch is in but not working. Hella headlights. Front and rear license plate brackets. Left side mirror bracket. Spare tire rim. The seat is there – I don’t know the condition of the springs – they feel ok - the vinyl has its share of holes and cracks. Wiring has been replaced according to the diagram. Military non-directional tires have moderate tread but are cracked from age - they're pretty much shot. The left rear doesn’t hold air very long but enough to move it. The bed is a sheet of plywood that doesn’t quite reach to both sides – no bed strips. There is an extra tailgate. The tail lights in the pictures were taken off to repair the broken lights on my utility trailer. The snow chains in the pictures are not included. Mechanical: It runs pretty smooth at idle but it knocks at higher RPM’s. I don’t know the actual mileage – the speedometer that came with the truck is not original. I have rebuilt the brakes from start to finish and it stops well. While I had the hubs apart, I replaced all of the bearings and raceways. It has the correct Carter E7T2 single barrel carburetor which was recently rebuilt. New alternator – specifically designed for high output at low RPM’s. No battery. I have several PTO’s included with the truck – some are not correct but I’ll let you sort them out. Transmission is the newer type with angle cut gears. Braden MU2 PTO driven winch and drive shaft. 4wd works in high – it doesn’t have the shift handle linkage for 4wd low so I’ve never tried it. Locking front hubs. Rear differential was recently replaced with a used one out of the front end of the donor. Rear springs are new – reproduction parts. The fuel tank has been cleaned and sealed by www.gastankrenu.com. Radiator has been boiled out, filled with anti freeze, and does not leak. I think I replaced the water pup at the same time. It ran when I parked it a few years ago. Video link below shows the engine running. Extras: A trailer hitch receiver is bolted to the rear frame cross member, just below the rear PTO opening. Other miscellaneous parts are included in the sale. If you have questions or would like more photos, please let me know. Clear title in hand. Non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of sale. Balance is due at the time of pick up. Buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements. 15 second video of the engine running here: https://youtu.be/WkPP2U0zT2M Photo slide show here: https://youtu.be/M5IU8zzldmk California residents must contact me before bidding for additional information.
