Up for auction is a 1975 Honda GL1000 Gold Wing. This was the first year of production for the Wing. I have owned the bike for 9 years and put around 6,300 mile on it. The motorcycle has 53,911 miles on the clock. Bike was repaint in a 2006 Honda Goldwing blue before I purchased it. Still looks good. All tabs on side covers are in good shape. Several years ago the timing belts were replaced as well as a tune up (plugs, points, condenser, air filter). I also put an oil filter conversion kit on so a spin-on oil filter can be used as well as an upgraded master cylinder kit for the front brakes, both from Randakk. The stock parts come with the bike. Stock exhaust is on the wing and is in good shape. Electrics are in good shape and everything works. Still has the turn signal buzzer on bike but I disconnected it. The bike runs fairly well and gets 40-43 mpg but, I believe the carbs could stand a rebuild. Occasionally upon starting, the bike will smoke. Happens more often on the side stand than on the center stand. Did compression check at time of tune up and had readings of 142-145 lbs. The clutch engages well but does have a little abruptness at the end of the travel. It’s a fun bike to ride and I have ridden many 100-200 mile days. I would like to keep this bike but need the space for my next project, a 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport. Bike will not come with windshield.
