Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ in excellent condition. I am sad to put it up for sale but I have two cars now and will be moving across the state soon. Therefore there is no sense keeping two vehicles. Plus I am still making payments on my other vehicle so unfortunately I can't sell that one instead! TITLE: Title is clear NC title in my name. No title issues at all. I have never been involved in any kind of accident during my ownership. HISTORY UNDER MY OWNERSHIP (2010 to present) I have no had any mechanical or other issues since I bought the Jeep from used car dealership around August 2010 with approx 108,000 miles. When I bought it, there was no frame rust or other major issues. Since then I have babied the Jeep and taken many proactive steps to prevent any rust as well as to upgrade the vehicle tastefully over the years. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer and better running original 99 TJ unless the owner never used it or did a full restoration! I changed the oil and filter religiously every year or 4K miles, whichever came first. Also check spark plugs periodically and no oil on the plugs or other issues. Engine runs great. No issues whatsoever. Tranny/clutch shifts smooth and no slipping whatsoever. AC blows cold, no issues . No frame or body rust I am aware of. No rust hiding behind metal plate or other body cladding. Jeep does not burn oil, smoke, or give me any trouble starting, running, stopping, etc. The OEM 15 inch rims are painted black and look good for being spray painted. I have just resprayed them from time to time to keep them freshened up. Tires are 30 inch. No body or suspension lift that I am aware of. During my ownership, I have done the following following: Four 30 inch Falken Rocky Mountain A/T tires installed in 2013 and they are in great condition with approx 15K miles on them at most;Bestop Trek Top NX removable top installed in 2013; New water pump and coolant hoses to radiator in 2013 New aluminum engine cover (for cosmetic purposes only) in 2013;New fan/serpentine belt put on around 2013;New spark plugs in 2013; New skyjacker shocks front and rear installed in 2014;Coolant system flushed in 2014; B&M Short-shifter installed in 2015;Side nerf bar rails added in 2015; New Alternator installed in 2015;Stainless steel brake front brake lines and brake line leading to the rear installed in 2015;New front brake pads and calibers installed in 2015. Iggee tan and black front/rear seat covers installed in 2015;Front grill guard installed in 2015;Transmission lubricant replaced in 2015; Rear tow bar added in 2015 (I never actually used to to tow anything however); Entire frame and undercarriage components have been scrubbed and treated with a rust preventative epoxy paint IMPERFECTIONS/ISSUES Now, being that it is an 18 year old used Jeep, she is not perfect. The paint is excellent but the fenders are not 100% perfect as the clear coat has some micro bubbles There is a hairline crack at the lower driver's side corner of the windshield It has been there as long as I have owned the Jeep and never got bigger or gave me any issues with inspections, etc. The emergency brake could use an adjustment since like pretty much every other Jeep, it does not do a great job holding on steep inclines. I just put the Jeep in gear when parking, no problems. Also, like pretty much every Jeep TJ as well, it drips maybe one or two drips of oil a week from the rear main seal area. I have never had a need to fix it because it is so slight and if you know anything about Jeep's they all leak in that area sooner or later. Also, I believe the prior owner must have scraped the oil pan on some rocks because it looks like it was repaired. Again I have owned the Jeep for over 7 years now and not had a single issue. There was some surface rust on the passenger side floor pan when I bought the Jeep. I scraped /sanded it down and put a coat of rust preventative epoxy paint on the area. Have not had an issue since. Also, when I bought the Jeep the dash oil pressure gauge did not work. Prior owner added a mechanical gauge that works great so I never bothered to fix it. That is about all I can say about imperfections I have noticed personally over the years. I see also in the carfax report done by Ebay when I listed the Jeep tonight, there is some frame damage that was reported in 2005 before my ownership (but no accident reported). I never saw that in any carfax report I ordered back in 2010 when I bought the Jeep. That being said, I suspect the prior owner scraped over some rocks on a trail ride and that is why someone considered that frame damage. As I stated above, the oil pan looks like it scraped some rocks in the past and I do see some evidence of scraping/dent on a small spot on the upper frame rail in the same general area. That would explain there being no accident involved. It was just a Jeep being a Jeep! I have driven this Jeep 40,000 miles over the past 7 years and have had zero issues. This included highway drives from PA to MI, to NC. She tracks straight in the highway and I have no problems myself with any structural integrity on the vehicle. Never once have I had the slightest need to be concerned about the frame or any safety item in general. OTHER STUFF AND PAYMENT DETAILS I will include everything you see in the pics, like the fire extinguisher and grab handles mounted to the roll bars. This is really a great looking Jeep that still turns heads to this day. I will miss it but somebody else should enjoy it since it is not being used by me much at all these days. I will require a $250 deposit by the winning bidder. Please do not bid unless you are serious and will follow through on the sale. I will work with the buyer as best I can to ship the Jeep at their expense. I will require a wire transfer or certified funds to clear before I release the vehicle or title. I am proud of these Jeep and have no worries about anyone viewing the vehicle in person. I have tried to honestly lay out the good and the imperfections of a used vehicle. I can say you will be happy with this Jeep. It has served me well and always taken good care of me these past 7 years or so. I am setting a fair price with best offers welcome. I would appreciate no low ball offers. I am a long-time Ebay buyer and seller, and honest in my dealings with others. I'll answer any questions you have and I am a reasonable person in terms of negotiation a fair price. GOOD LUCK!
