Up for bid is my 2005 Triumph Thruxton Café Racer project bike. I purchased this bike over a year ago in Santa Monica from a gentleman who just moved here from New York. I waited in line at the DMV for hours waiting to get this bike registered. After some difficulty they agreed to let me pay the fee's but had to show proof that the bike could legally be registered in California. In California if a vehicle has less than 7500 miles it can not be registered if it originally was not legal to sell here if it did not meet smog requirement. The age of the vehicle does not matter. so since I had already started the registration process with a vehicle with less than 7500 miles it had been flagged and I can not register it in California and yes I contacted Triumph with the VIN and they said this model was not sold in California and they could not send me a letter stating such. That being said. I can only sell to someone from out of state, unless someone one is willing to buy in California and register out of state. full disclosure. you have been made aware. Now on to the juicy bits... 2005 triumph thuxton with list of new parts new custom paint (original color was yellow) $800 new tank, fuel petcock and gas cap approx. $550 new tires$300 new shocks$200 rear sets$400 tail tiddy w/ wiring harness and british custom front a rear blinkers$225 new tank badges$60 british custom 2 into 1 exhaust$500(retail $1200) new spark plugs, wires and coil$150 smog equipment was removed and plugs placed in cylinder head$40 new battery from previous owner$$$ K&N air filter $50 new grips, levers and bar end mirrors$$$ new front brake reservoir from british custom$$$ comes with cover and trickle charger. all paper work from previous owner and myself included with bill of sale from California DMV for title transfer. replaced numerous nuts and bolts with new stainless. bike was knocked over in a parking lot before I bought it and had spent a couple years in New York. possibly not taken very well care of, but I fixed most of that. the side covers had corrosion and the clear coat was peeling away so I started to strip and polish as you can see in the pictures. the left light switch has a crack in it from previous owner. I live in the central coast and the bike was stored under a cover with trickle charger. I have ridden her up and down the California coast line and to Los Angeles and back. she rides great and I love the exhaust note she makes. She still needs a few touches and possible rejetted but other than that she 90% completed. No leaks and starts every time.
